boyfriend Kenneth Walker, who told Louisville Police investigators he thought intruders were breaking in. Investigators determined Walker fired the shot that passed through the leg of Sgt. John Mattingly, who along with officer Myles Cosgrove, returned fire. A total of 32 rounds were fired by police.

Prosecutors drop attempted murder charge against Breonna Taylor's boyfriend
grand jury on March 19 after he fired atLouisville Metro Police officers who were executing a search warrant in the early morning of March 13 at Taylor's southwest Louisville apartment. LMPD Sgt.John Mattingly was shot in the leg and underwent surgery for what police said were severe injuries.
