Abstract:

An embodiment generally relates to a method of signal discrimination. The method includes receiving plurality of signal mixtures, where each signal has a property whose value is based on a principal eigenvalue of a unique separating operator. The method also includes creating a separating operator using a target signal approximation and applying a separating operator for a target signal to the plurality of signal mixtures. The method further includes obtaining the target signal based on an operation of optimization of the separating operator for maximum property value amplitude on the plurality of signal mixtures.

Abstract:

A Schottky diode capable of sustaining a voltage of greater than about 250 volts and a method for its manufacture. An epitaxial layer of N-type conductivity is disposed on a semiconductor substrate of N-type conductivity. A guard ring of P-type conductivity extends into the epitaxial layer from its surface. A stacked structure is formed on a portion of the guard ring and a portion of the epitaxial layer. The stacked structure includes a layer of semi-insulating semiconductor material disposed on a layer of dielectric material. A first metal layer is formed on the portion of the epitaxial layer adjacent a first side of the stacked structure and on a first portion of the stacked structure. A second metal layer is formed on the portion of the epitaxial layer adjacent a second side of the stacked structure and on a second portion of the stacked structure.

Abstract:

An air conditioning compressor comprises a compressor housing including front and rear housing heads and a pair of cylinder blocks disposed in the housing each defining axially disposed cylinders. The compressor also includes a double-acting piston in each cylinder opening, a swashplate and drive shaft assembly having a swashplate driveably engageable with each piston and a driveshaft mounted in each cylinder block coaxially therewith. The compressor further includes a valve assembly located between each housing head and each respective cylinder block. Each valve assembly includes an intake valve means disposed adjacent to the respective cylinder block, the intake valve means includes valve reeds that control flow from the low pressure passages to the cylinders, a valve plate disposed adjacent to the intake valve means, a discharge valve means disposed adjacent the valve plate, and a noise reducing gasket means disposed between the discharge valve means and the housing head. The noise reducing gasket means includes a first region disposed at a radially inward part of the gasket means for sealingly limiting gas transfer radially inwardly from the high pressure region, a second region radially outwardly spaced from the first region for sealingly limiting gas transfer from the high pressure region to the low pressure region, and a plurality of resilient members mounted in a cantilever fashion to the second region and having a free end spaced from the first region.

A baseball card game including one deck of cards, the deck including 27 "out" cards, 13 "on base" cards, and 1 wild pitch card, and 9 separate "incidence" cards. Abstract:

A method of measuring liquid flows in a living organism comprises the steps of applying an applied magnetic field to a living organism, introducing a time-varying quantity of a magnetizable fluid into a flow of liquid in the living organism, and measuring the variation in an induced magnetic field emanating from the living organism as a measure of the flow of the magnetizable fluid and the liquid within the living organism. The measurement of the induced magnetic field is preferably accomplished with at least two magnetic field sensors positioned at different locations relative to the living organism, whose outputs are detected with SQUID detectors. A cross correlation of the outputs of the magnetic field sensors permits the flow of liquid to be deduced as a function of time and location.
