Abstract:

A base includes apertures and surface features for precisely aligning central processing units (CPUs) and jackets with each other. Applicator heads are used to exert contact force against respective jackets during adhesive bonding to the CPUs. Each jacket functions as a gripping or handling feature during subsequent positioning or transport of the corresponding CPU. Such CPUs can be inserted into servers or other entities by way of automated mechanisms or manual operations with reduced risk of damage, misalignment or other problems.

Abstract:

The present invention provides a method for on-line real-time processing of processing navigational data for determining the location of sensor and receiver points in a navigational network having a number of different types of devices. Observations from these devices are obtained using a coordinate system that follows appropriate nominal sailing lines. Outlying observations are discarded using w-statistics for the observations. Any correlated observations such as compass azimuths are uncorrelated. The uncorrelated observations are then sequentially processed in an extended sequential Kalman filter, which provides the best estimate of the station coordinates. These estimated coordinates are then used to determine the location of the source and receiver points.

Abstract:

One or more slave acoustic transponders are secured to selected parts of a seismic bottom cable whose location is imperfectly known. A master transponder broadcasts an interrogation pulse from each of a number of different, known locations distributed along a line of survey. In response to an interrogation pulse, a slave transponder emits an encoded signal that is received by the master transponder. The acoustic flight time between each pulse broadcast and encoded-signal reception constitutes a range measurement to the participating slave transponder. Resolving a gather of several range measurement from different known broadcast locations, focussed on an identifiable transponder, defines the transponder location.

Example implementations relate to an electrical socket for an electronic packaging assembly, which accepts a modular integrated circuit (IC) on one side and a circuit board on another side.
