Abstract:

The present invention relates to nucleic oligomer primers or probes useful for detection of TTV in test samples. Also provided are assays which utilize these primers and probes, as well as test kits which contain these oligomer primers and/or probes. In addition, the present invention encompasses the use of TTV nucleotide sequences as nucleic acid vectors and as markers for determining transmission between individuals as well as the route thereof. Additionally, the present invention encompasses a method of detecting TTV infection prior to xenotransplatation of a tissue or organ.

Abstract:

An improved truck bed design for automotive and equipment delivery preferably includes at least one front section, a rear section and a front pan. A front of the rear section is preferably pivotally retained on a rear of the front section. The front pan is attached to a front of the front section. The front section includes a plurality of front lengthwise support members, at least one cross member and two front deck plates. The rear section includes two first rear deck plates, a second rear deck plate, a plurality of rear lengthwise support members and at least two improved air bag retention systems. Each improved air bag retention system includes an air bag, an air bag bracket and a base bracket. The front pan is formed from a single piece of material, which includes a base member, a first side member and a second side member.

Abstract:

An improved concealed sprinkler head assembly that incorporates a standard pendant-type sprinkler head includes a frame having an outlet that is connected to a water line and a valve cap that encloses the outlet and is held in the closed position by a releasable lever mechanism which includes a fusible metal. The assembly also includes a pre-assembled cover plate unit that consists of a disc having a central opening that is slid upwardly over the frame of the sprinkler head. The cover plate unit also includes a tubular sleeve having a pair of opposed notches which receive projections on the periphery of the disc. A decorative cover plate is secured through a fusible metal, such as solder, to the lower edge of the sleeve, and a coil spring, in a compressed condition, interconnects the upper end of the sleeve with the disc.

Abstract:

An improved recessed sprinkler head including a frame having a base portion with an outlet to be connected to a source of water under pressure. The frame also includes a pair of curved arms which extend outwardly from the base portion and are connected together at a junction. The outlet is normally enclosed by a cap which is retained in position by a releasable mechanism that includes an element arranged to release when the sprinkler head is exposed to a predetermined elevated temperature. A disc-like support member having a central aperture of sufficient size to receive the arms of the frame is slipped upwardly over the frame after the sprinkler head is connected to the water line, and the support member includes a pair of opposed flexible resilient tabs that are adapted to engage an abutment on the base portion of the frame. An annular sleeve is positioned outwardly of the frame, and the lower end of the sleeve defines a decorative ring. Biasing means, such as a compression spring, is interposed between the support member and the sleeve to urge the decorative ring upwardly against the ceiling of the building and to permit the ring to float in accordance with relative movement between the water system and the ceiling.

Abstract:

A partially concealed fast response sprinkler head having a body defining an inlet to be connected to a water line and having an outlet normally enclosed by a valve cap. The upper ends of a pair of lever members are supported on an internal shoulder in the body. Each lever member is generally semicircular in cross section and the lower ends of the lever members taper inwardly and define a central passage. The valve cap is provided with a threaded bore which receives a screw and the head of the screw engages a retaining bar, the ends of which bear against the upper ends of the respective lever members at a location spaced inwardly from the engagement of the lever members with the body, so that the force of the retaining bar against the lever members will tend to pivot the lower ends of the lever members outwardly away from each other. The retaining bar has a central opening that exposes the head of the screw and by turning out the screw from the threaded bore, a force will be applied to the lever members to urge the lever members outwardly away from each other. The lower ends of the lever members are retained together by a pair of metal heat transfer discs, which are disposed flatwise to each other and have mating open ended recesses that receive the lower ends of the lever members.

Abstract:

A sprinkler head including a frame or body having an opening to be connected to a water line. The body also includes a pair of arms which are joined together at a junction. A cap encloses the opening and a releasable mechanism, such as a frangible glass bulb, is connected between the junction and cap. When the sprinkler head is exposed to an elevated temperature, the glass bulb will fracture releasing the cap to permit water to be discharged from the opening. The sprinkler head includes an ejection mechanism which prevents the cap from hanging up on the arms. The ejection mechanism has a base connected to a projection on the upstream side of the cap and a skirt extends longitudinally from the base and terminates in a thin edge facing upstream. When the cap is released by fracture of the bulb, the water pressure will force the cap axially and when the cap strikes the arms the cap will tilt slightly causing the water pressure to then act against the side surface of the skirt to provide a rapid tilting and ejection of the cap from the frame.

Abstract:

A liquid flow indicator for use in an automatic sprinkler system. The indicator is adapted to be attached to a water line and includes a non-metallic vane retainer or support which is mounted within an opening in the water line. A flexible one-piece plastic vane is pivoted to the retainer and has a generally circular body portion which is disposed transversely within the pipe. If the water line is opened downstream of the indicator, the flow of water within the line will pivot the vane, causing a magnet in the upper end of the vane to move into proximity with a sensor to complete an electrical circuit and generate a signal indicating that the water line has been opened. The retainer is formed with a pair of aligned recesses which are sealed apart by a central wall and the upper head of the vane which contains the magnet, is located in one recess, while the sensor is in the other recess.
