Abstract:

A multi-channel fixed wireless terminal ( ) is implemented using a gain controller ( ) for controlling the gain of each of a plurality of transmission channels. The gain controller ( ) includes an averager ( ) for receiving and averaging gain control signals ( ) for each of multiple transmission channels to generate an average gain control signal ( ). In addition, differentiators ( ) generate respective differential gain control signals ( ) for the multiple transmission channels from the respective gain control signals ( ) for the multiple transmission channels and the average gain control signal ( ). A plurality of adjustable amplifiers ( ) controlled by the respective plurality of differentiators ( ) amplify signals transmitted over the multiple transmission channels and input thereto to maximize respective signal to noise ratios of the signals. Through implementation of the gain controller ( ), the multi-channel fixed wireless terminal ( ) may be implemented with only a single transmitter ( ).

Abstract:

An integrated circuit and method for receiving and transmitting signals of different frequency bands utilizes a switching device on a bypass current path to selectively route incoming and outgoing signals by circumventing a capacitive device on a receive signal path. The bypass current path is used to selectively conduct current through a variable resistance device on a transmit signal path to transmit or block signals through the variable resistance device.
