Abstract:

A method for facilitating a financial decision for 4-dimensional navigation of a vehicle includes receiving navigation information for the vehicle. A current location of the vehicle is determined. Data associated with at least one predetermined location of a plurality of predetermined locations is retrieved. A range of costs for said vehicle, representative of the at least one predetermined arrival time for the at least one predetermined location, is estimated. The range of costs is associated with a minimum value of the navigational information and a maximum value of the navigational information. An indicator representative of at least one cost of the range of costs is displayed.

Abstract:

A system and method are disclosed for computing a vehicle's motion in four dimensions (e. g. , three spatial dimensions and time) and reliably predicting the vehicle's arrival time at a predetermined location, by providing a graphical display to an operator of the vehicle's progress that enables the operator to adjust the vehicle's movement and achieve the desired arrival time. Specifically, a system and method are disclosed for computing the movement of an aircraft in four dimensions, predicting its arrival time at a predetermined waypoint, and displaying (in a highly intuitive format) the aircraft's progress in achieving that desired arrival time. A system for displaying throttle settings to an aircraft operator includes, but is not limited to, a display unit, a data storage unit configured to store aircraft and airport data, an operator input unit configured to receive thrust related information from the aircraft operator, an aircraft sensor configured to detect an aircraft condition, and a processor. A display system and method for a display, in real-time, of a confidence display, displaying the protected airspace associated with a projected trajectory of a first aircraft and the protected airspace associated with a projected trajectory of at least one additional aircraft during a phase of flight. A method for generating emissions estimations of an aircraft is provided. A plurality of aircraft parameters is gathered. A first parameter of the plurality of aircraft parameters is selected for a first model. The first model mathematically contributes to the formulation of a first emissions estimation. Abstract:

A system for providing a pilot with a visual depiction of a terrain includes, but is not limited to, a data storage unit for storing terrain data, a position determination unit for determining a position of an aircraft, a near to eye display unit worn by the pilot for displaying visual images and for determining a view direction of the pilot. A processing unit is communicatively connected to the data storage unit, to the position determination unit and to the near to eye display unit. The processing unit controls the near to eye display unit to display a three dimensional representation of a viewed terrain region that includes a depiction of the terrain overlaying the terrain within the viewed terrain region and is graphically differentiated to correspond with an altitude of the terrain within the viewed terrain region. The depiction of the terrain is at least partially transparent.
