Abstract:
A stacking crate for bottles has a plurality of tapered pylons extending upward from a periphery of a floor. A rib extends downwardly in the interior of a cavity in each pylon. Each pylon further includes a slot in an upper surface of the pylon substantially aligned with the rib. When similar crates are nested, the ribs in the pylons of one crate will rest in the slots in the upper surface of the pylons of the lower crate, thus permitting the crates to be nested.
A pallet system for supporting a load of packages is disclosed. The pallet system is comprised of a plurality of pallet units. Each pallet unit may have a load support portion, a plurality of side portions attached thereto, and a flange portion attached to the side portions. The load support portion is adapted to be placed directly adjacent to the bottom surface of the load. The side portions have openings sufficiently sized to receive forks of a forklift. The flange portion is flexible and extends continuously around the periphery of the pallet unit. A method for supporting a load of packages utilizing a plurality of pallet units is also disclosed.

Abstract:
A waste container provides at least one protrusion spaced below a lip extending radially outwardly from an upper edge of the waste container. The at least one protrusion is spaced below the lip to permit a gripper from an automatic lifter to grasp the waste container between the at least one protrusion and the upper lip. The at least one protrusion may be a plurality of triangular shaped bosses formed midway between the upper edge and lower edge of the waste container. Alternatively, the at least one protrusion may be a base portion which extends radially outwardly at a lower edge of the waste container. The at least one protrusion prevents the waste container from slipping completely through the grippers while the waste container is inverted while emptying the contents into a truck.

Abstract:
A portable storage container that both stacks and nests with similar containers includes a plurality of walls extending upwardly from a floor. At least one bail member is moveable between a plurality of positions for supporting the similar containers at varying heights. The bail member is moveable between a low nest position and a high nest position. In the low nest position, minimal clearance between the floors of the stacked containers is provided, and the stacked containers have the lowest overall height. In the high nest position, a ledge protruding outwardly from an outer surface of a wall of the upper container is supported on a support portion of the bail arm.

A half pallet for use with a pallet lift jack includes a deck that is snap-fit to a plurality of supports. A lateral projection extends inwardly from each of the supports. A vertical projection protrudes upwardly from an inner end of the lateral projection and is spaced from the support such that a portion of a frame of the pallet lift jack can be received between the vertical projection and the support to prevent outward deflection of the supports.

Abstract:
A nestable bottle crate provides increased stability to the containers and improved nesting relative to prior art crates. The crate also nests and stacks with the prior art crates. The crate includes a lower wall portion and an upper band portion. The lower wall portion includes a plurality of columns and four corner columns. The upper band portion includes alternating first and second portions. The first portions are each a single, solid wall having an interior concave bottle contact surface. The second portions are aligned with the columns. The columns project inwardly farther than the second portions so that each column forms a ledge between the column and the second portion above it. The ledge is at least substantially parallel to the floor and at least substantially perpendicular to the inner wall of the second portion.
