I am a Real Estate Consultant specializing in REO, foreclosure, HUD, and short sale transactions. Today's market has presented a once in a lifetime opportunity for buying homes and as the days go by there is more and more competition, especially when it comes to foreclosures. Interest rates are at the lowest they have been in 50 years...I am seeing clients getting locked in at 5.5% fixed. The city of Fort Worth is offering a $25,000 forgivable loan for buying a foreclosed home as a primary residence. The US Department of HUD has a $100 down payment program for FHA loans which covers the typical 3.5% required down payment. USDA is offering a 100% financing loan for select areas. The first time home buyer's tax credit has now been bumped up to $8,000 and does not need to be repaid if you live in the home for 3 years or more.
