I used to joke with patients, "Don't worry. We won't run out of pills we can give you." We would both laugh and roll our eyes. But in every joke there is an element of truth. Grant it, most medications are necessary and life saving but we have become too arrogant thinking we can treat everything with a pill. If the human body is nothing short of miraculous, then why is it so hard to believe that the answers to many of our medical problems are already within our own body?
