Abstract:

A vehicle sound generator system is configured to generate a signal configured to drive one or more speakers produce sound waves simulating sounds associated with a desired engine type. The signal is based on one or more operating conditions of a vehicle. The vehicle sound generator system is configured to select sounds from a plurality of sounds based on the operating conditions of the vehicle. Each sound corresponds to a simulated sound of an engine operating in a respective gear. The vehicle sound generator system may generate the signal to drive the speakers to produce selected sounds to simulate shifting between the respective gears.

Abstract:

An audio arrangement for a motor vehicle includes a position sensor detecting a position of ears of a human driver of the motor vehicle. A memory device stores sets of audio parameters. Each set of audio parameters is stored in association with a corresponding possible position of the ears of the human driver. An electronic controller receives a position signal from the position sensor indicative of the detected position of the ears of the human driver. The electronic controller retrieves from the memory device a set of audio parameters stored in association with the detected position of the ears of the human driver. The electronic controller transmits an audio signal dependent upon the retrieved set of audio parameters. An audio system receives the audio signal from the electronic controller. The audio system produces audible sounds dependent upon the received audio signal.

Abstract:

A motor vehicle includes at least one first microphone permanently installed in the motor vehicle. An electronic processor is communicatively coupled to the first microphone and receives a first microphone signal from the first microphone. The electronic processor establishes communication with a personal mobile electronic device brought into a passenger compartment of the motor vehicle by a human user. The personal mobile electronic device has a second microphone. The electronic processor receives a second microphone signal from the second microphone, and performs advanced audio processing dependent upon the first microphone signal and the second microphone signal.
