Abstract:
An apparatus and method incorporating at least two sensors that detect the presence of substrate defects, such as breakage or misalignment, along the lengths of at least two parallel edges of a moving substrate. In one embodiment, an apparatus for detecting substrate defects includes a sensor arrangement including at least two sensors that continuously sense a substrate near at least two parallel edges of the substrate as the substrate passes the sensors. In another embodiment, an apparatus for detecting substrate defects includes a robot having a substrate support surface, and a sensor arrangement including at least two sensors that continuously sense a substrate near at least two parallel edges of the substrate during substrate transfer on the substrate support surface. In another embodiment, a method of continuously detecting substrate defects includes positioning at least two sensors to continuously sense a substrate near at least two parallel edges of the substrate as the substrate passes the sensors, and transmitting a signal from each of the at least two sensors to a controller that continuously monitors the signals from the at least two sensors to detect the presence of a substrate defect.

Abstract:
An apparatus and method incorporating at least two sensors that detect the presence of a substrate is provided. In one embodiment, a method for transferring a substrate in a processing system is described. The method includes positioning a substrate on an end effector in a first chamber, moving the substrate through an opening between the first chamber and a second chamber along a substrate travel path, and sensing opposing sides of the substrate travel path using at least two sensors positioned proximate to the opening, each of the at least two sensors defining a beam path that is directed through opposing edge regions of the substrate when at least a portion of an edge region traverses the beam path.

Abstract:
A system for transferring and/or concentrating a sample is provided. The system includes a chamber with a membrane brave positioned within the chamber. An electrode assembly is configured to create an electric field across the membrane to move a charged sample through the chamber such that the sample collects and may concentrate on the membrane. The system may include a plurality of membranes. The system may also include a plurality of microchannels outwardly extending from the channel, where the membrane extends along the plurality of microchannels. Aspects of the invention are also directed to a pipette which may be used to transfer and concentrate a sample on a membrane. Certain embodiments are directed to methods and systems for concentrating a nucleic acid sample.
Modeling Higher-Level Metrics From Graph Data Derived From Already-Collected But Not Yet Connected Data
Systems and methods for modeling higher-level metrics from graph data derived from already-collected but not yet connected data are disclosed. A method includes extracting a first set of actor-related data, a second set of object-related data, and a third set of temporal data from the set of the already-collected but not yet connected data representative of a unit-level contribution to the target activity. The method further includes generating graph data for a graph using the set of the already-collected but not yet connected data, where each of the plurality of nodes of the graph corresponds to the actor or the object, and where an attribute associated with each of the plurality of edges of the graph corresponds to a measurement associated with the target activity. The method further includes modeling a relationship between graph attributes associated with the graph data and a higher-level metric associated with the target activity.

Abstract:
Techniques for interaction based social distance quantification are discloses herein. In one example, a method includes generating an interaction graph having (i) multiple vertices individually corresponding to multiple users and (ii) multiple directional edges individually connecting pairs of the multiple vertices. The method can also include applying graph embedding to convert the multiple vertices in the generated graph into corresponding tensors in a vector space. The method can further includes determining and outputting a social distance value between the one of the multiple users and another of the multiple users by calculating a tensor distance in the vector space between tensors corresponding to the one of the multiple users and the another of the multiple users.

Abstract:
A system, apparatus, and method to identify incentives in multi-party interactions where such incentives are represented by specification value pairs and through the use of game theory, machine leaning, pattern identification and recognition and/or digital twins in any arrangement, misalignment of such specification value pairs may be identified and responded to in manner that can avoid and/or mitigate the impact of such misalignments on the interactions of those parties, including in pursuit of the reduction of fraud or other undesirable behaviors within at least one system.
Network Access Anomaly Detection Via Graph Embedding
- Redmond WA, US Alexander Donald MODELL - Chichester, GB Jonathan Karl LARSON - Bremerton WA, US
International Classification:
H04L 29/06
Abstract:
Disclosed is a scalable, graph-based approach to detecting anomalous accesses to resources in a computer network. Access events are represented as edges between resource nodes and accessing nodes (e.g., corresponding to users) in a bipartite graph, from which vector representations of the nodes that reflect the connections can be computed by graph embedding. For an access event of interest, an anomaly score may be computed based on dissimilarities, in terms of their embedding distances, between the associated accessing node and other accessing nodes that have accessed the same resource, and/or between the associated resource node and other resource nodes that have been accessed by the same accessing node.

The method further includes converting the graph data into metric space data using a graph embedding process.
