Abstract:
A system that includes a container containing a fluid, a fluid line coupled with the container, and a pump configured to pump the fluid out of the container through the fluid line. The system further includes a sensor that includes a wireless transmitter. The sensor is configured to sense the pressure in the fluid line and to periodically transmit, using the wireless transmitter, an alarm message when the pressure reaches an alarm threshold.

Abstract:
Apparatus, systems and methods are described for preconcentrators, chemical sensing systems and gas chromatographs. A preconcentrator is described that comprises a hollow enclosure containing a sorbent material. The enclosure may be a capillary tube that can be formed in to a desired shape and that may be heated. Heating may be accomplished by passing an electrical current through the capillary or other hollow enclosure form. The sorbent material can be a liquid, a solid, a porous ceramic material and/or a chemiselective polymer. The sorbent material can be coated to the inner wall of the enclosure. The hollow enclosure may be maintained in an insulated chamber. The preconcentrator acts to concentrate a vapor passed through the preconcentrator to a chemical sensing array that can detect chemicals present in the vapor. A gas passed through the hollow enclosure can provide a chemically concentrated input to a chromatographic column.

Abstract:
This invention relates to a device and a method by which to directly measure based on pressure and/or temperature data and to control the flow rate, viscosity, density, velocity, pressure or temperature of a variety of fluids in motion with improved reliability and less susceptibility to disturbance of the measuring and control system while, at the same time, offering maximum flexibility for influencing measurement and control data. Components of the flow meter system are described and the methods for calibrating the system and determining pour volumes are explained.

Abstract:
An adjustable organizer that includes a plurality of spaced apart vertically oriented dividers and a plurality of selectively stackable platforms extending from the dividers. The platforms increase in height from a foremost platform to a rearmost platform. Adjacent dividers together with a platform extending between the adjacent dividers define a compartment. A connector assembly is operatively associated with one of the dividers and platforms. The connector assembly is configured to allow for independent adjustment of spacing between adjacent dividers to selectively adjust a size of a compartment and to allow a forward platform to slide beneath a platform rearward of the forward platform.

Abstract:
A system comprises a pressurized container configured to hold a pressurized gas and to supply controlled amounts of the pressurized gas to the system as required. The system also includes a sensor that includes a wireless transmitter. The sensor is configured to sense the pressure in the pressurized container and to periodically transmit, using the wireless transmitter, information related to the pressure in the pressurized container. The system also includes a control unit that includes a wireless receiver configured to receive the information transmitted by the sensor. The control unit is further configured to predict based on the received information when the pressure in the pressurized container will reach a predetermined threshold.

Abstract:
A method performed by a biometric collection device, including: conveying a waiting signal to a user of the biometric collection device in response to the biometric collection device being waiting for at least one finger to be placed on the biometric collection device; capturing a flat fingerprint or a rolled finger print of the finger; and conveying a result signal to the user in response to the biometric collection device succeeding in or failing in capturing the flat fingerprint or the rolled finger print of the finger, wherein the waiting signal differs from the result signal in at least a length of lighting or a color.

Kobe Bryant's helicopter flew in fog that grounded other choppers
The Los Angeles County medical examiner, Dr. Jonathan Lucas, said the rugged terrain complicated efforts to recover the remains. He estimated it would take at least a couple of days to complete that task before identifications can be made.

Sheriff: 2 deaths at California mansion not crimes
Dr. Jonathan Lucas, from the San Diego County medical examiner's office, ruled the boy's death an accident, saying he died partly due to resuscitated cardiopulmonary arrest, cervical spinal chord contusion and blunt force trauma of the head and neck.
The boy injured his neck, which stopped his heart and breathing for about 30 minutes, said Dr. Jonathan Lucas of the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office. The lack of oxygen to his brain caused irreversible damage and his death five days later.
