Abstract:
A tubing termination comprises a termination portion adapted to make a fluid connection and a tube attachment portion, adapted to receive a tube and to be crimped or swaged. The tube attachment portion comprises a retention mechanism that is adapted to be manipulated during crimping or swaging to bite the tube so as to lock the tube attachment portion relative to the tube. This retention mechanism may take the form of a deformable bite ring, a deflectable c-insert, irregularities defined on an inner surface of the tube attachment portion, and/or the like. The tube attachment portion also may include a resilient sealing mechanism adapted to provide a seal between the tube and the tube attachment portion, and thereby a fluid-tight connection between the tube and the termination portion.

Abstract:
A quick to connect and quick to disconnect fluid coupling includes a clip, a male stem having an annular clip groove adapted to receive the clip, a female port having a step groove adapted to receive the clip upon insertion of the stem into the port, and a sleeve slideably disposed about the stem adapted to abut the clip and minimize shuttling of the stem within the port. The sleeve may be biased toward the clip by a dust seal abutting a shoulder of the sleeve distal from a lead-in end of the sleeve abutting the clip. Also, the sleeve may radially retain the clip, compressed in an annular groove of the stem, and/or the sleeve abutting the clip may stabilize the clip and axially align the clip with the stem, for insertion of the stem into the port.

Abstract:
A hose end coupling comprising a unitary one-piece stem having an exterior barb end portion and an exterior ferrule interface portion, with a unitary one-piece radially crushable ferrule disposed over the stem, with a crushable socket portion disposed about the barb end portion, a deformable attachment portion disposed about the ferrule interface portion, and a torque communication portion defined between the socket portion and the attachment portion. The socket portion may retain a āCā shaped insert, one or more coiled inserts, or a plurality of stacked inserts, for gripping a hose end and the socket portion might define a lip, with a seal disposed in the socket portion between the insert(s) and the lip. Some embodiments of a āCā shaped insert define inner-circumferential teeth and corresponding outer-circumferential depression indentions.

Abstract:
A threaded adapter is part of a quick-to-connect and quick-to-disconnect flexible hose coupling system. The adapter may provide a low-profile securement and seal between the port and the stem portion of the quick connect coupling. The adapter in combination with the fluid valve block orifice provides a seal that is further down in the valve block that the location of seals provided by other fluid couplings. Without a reliance on wrenching flats, the adapter is also provides effective access to the hoses for repair and therefore is a cost saving device. The adapter may be a safe, reliable, easy to connect and disconnect component in a hydraulic system and is adaptable to accommodate any coupling including those in high and low pressure fluid and other systems.

Abstract:
A multi-layer flexible hose with at least one vulcanized elastomer layer and an outermost cover layer of a thermoplastic polyurethane strip that is wrapped and thermally fused to form a continuous layer. The wrapping may be helical or longitudinal. The polyurethane includes a high hardness, a softening point at or below the vulcanization temperature, and an intumescent flame retarding additive stable at the vulcanization temperature. The polyurethane cover adheres to the elastomer layer and contributes to the flame resistance required by API 16D or of Lloyd's Register Fire Tests for Flexible Hoses on Offshore Installations OD/1000/499 rev. 1.

Abstract:
An integrally formed male tube end configured for selective engagement to a female port surface to create a fluid seal is provided. The tube end has a leading edge, an outer wall, and an inner wall. The outer wall of the male tube end includes a male tapered surface, a shoulder, and a substantially cylindrical surface positioned between the male tapered surface and the shoulder. The inner wall of the tube end may include an annular cavity to allow deflection and enhanced sealing between the male sealing surface and the female tapered surface.
