Abstract:
A cutting board assembly comprises a cutting board; a frame for supporting the cutting board thereon; and a drawer having a length, a width, and a depth defining a containment space for containing food therein, and having measuring increments marked along a length or a width thereof. The drawer is supported by the frame for sliding movement between a retracted position, in which the drawer is substantially retained within the frame and the containment space is substantially covered, and a protracted position, in which the containment space is substantially uncovered. A volume of food retained within the containment space may be measured using the increments marked along the length or the width of the drawer.
A device for dispensing articles such as paper clips and pins having a body chamber to contain a stack of the articles, a head assembly to eject the articles, and a base assembly containing a spring mechanism to bias the stack of articles toward the head assembly. Additional aspects of the invention are paper clips and pins designed to be used in conjunction with the dispenser having generally flat top surface and bottom surfaces, these surfaces being essentially parallel to one another to facilitate stacking.

Abstract:
A cutting board assembly comprises a cutting board; a first container including a bottom, opposite side walls, and opposite end walls, with the opposite side walls and opposite end walls extending from a periphery of the bottom to define a holding area wherein food items may be retained; and a frame including opposite side walls and a support platform from which the side walls extend. The cutting board is retained upon the support platform. The frame is configured to receive and retain therein the first container such that the first container is movable between a retracted position, in which the first container is substantially disposed interior to the frame and the holding area thereof is substantially covered, and a protracted position, in which the first container is substantially disposed exterior to the frame and the holding area of the container is at least partially uncovered.
Plates With A Chamber For Holding Replaceable Decorative Inserts
A plate with a bottom chamber for holding a decorative insert. The plate is made of a clear material such as acrylic, has a downwardly projecting rim on the bottom side and a cap that fits around and over the rim from the bottom. The bottom surface of the plate, the rim and the cap form a chamber in which a decorative element such as a sheet of paper or plastic, photograph, a craft item, or other items may be inserted. The decorative element can be easily replaced by removing the cap.

The present application is directed to methods and devices for a self-powered sterilizing door handle. The door handle consists of an actuator pivotably attached to a housing. The housing is attached to a door and contains a gear train and a generator. Movement of the actuator rotates the gear train which in turns activates the generator. The generator produces electrical energy that powers a UV light source. The UV light produced by the UV light source is directed to an outer surface of the actuator, thereby deactivating microorganisms on the outer surface.

Abstract:
A slot track raceway has two side-by-side slots for enabling two racing cars to run around a closed loop track. A lap counter individually associated with each closed loop is set to a selected number of laps for establishing the length of a race. Each completion of a lap causes the associated lap counter to count down. When the lap counter counts down to zero, a spring biased hinged track section snaps into alignment with an upwardly inclined ramp so that the car winning the race flies off the track, thus escaping or leaping from the track.
