Abstract:

A circuit and supplemental power source connection scheme for a telecommunications modem transmission link are described. The supplemental power source is connectable at any point along a telecommunications wire, including the terminals of repeaters and remote terminals. The combiner circuit includes a diode bridge for ensuring the proper connection of externally connected high voltage power to internal circuitry of the power combiner. The combiner also includes a line polarity matching circuit that automatically configures to signally connect internal positive and negative voltage signals to corresponding positive and negative external signal lines on a telecommunications modem transmission link.

Abstract:

A battery charger is provided. The charger includes an AC input for connection to a source of AC power and a plurality of DC outputs each being connectable to a battery bank. A user interface is provided for inputting battery information including battery voltage and battery type for each DC output. A main controller is in communication with the user interface and receives the battery information from the user interface. The main controller uses the battery information to provide independent charging instructions for each DC output. At least one power module is in communication with the main controller and receives the charging instructions from the main controller. The power module is configured to convert the AC power from the AC input to DC power and is selectively connectable with each of the plurality DC outputs. The power module is configured such that the charging instructions from the main controller direct the power module as to which DC output to connect and a charge voltage and a charge amps to be provided by the power module to that DC output.

Abstract:

A composite spreader frame assembly provides a primary load line having a bridle attached to the load line and four radially and branching lines connected at one respective end to the bridle. A pair of separate elongated support bars are each supported independently by the alternate radially branching lines. A plurality of lifting eyes are removably connected at each respective end of the elongated support bars. Four secondary depending load lines which are generally vertical during lifting are attached at the upper end to the lifting eyes and at the lower end to a load to be lifted.

Abstract:

An adapter for connecting an electrical load which is mobile, such as the electrical system of a pleasure craft, to a stationary power source, such as the electrical pedestal at a marina. In its preferred embodiment, the adapter serves to connect a higher voltage load (such as a 240 volt electrical load of a pleasure craft) to a pair of conventional 120 volt sources. Input cables include a pair of connectors for independent connection to sources on the pedestal. Isolation means within the adapter serves to isolate the input connectors from each other during the connection operation such that a user holding one connector while connecting the other will not receive an electrical shock. Sensing means within the adapter determines that the sources are in the proper relationship to sum to the level required by the mobile load. When the sensing means determines that the sources are connected and in the proper relationship, contacts are closed connecting the summed inputs to the output for driving the load.

A spreader bar assembly provides a rigid elongated support of uniform cross-section (for example, a section of pipe). A pair of lifting eye assemblies are connected during the lifting operation at each respective end portion of the bar, each forming a connection with an above supporting bridle line and a depending lift line, each of the lifting eye assemblies comprising in part a socket of uniform cross-section receptive of one end of said bar thereinto and having a corresponding internal cross-section equal to or slightly larger than the external cross-section of the support bar. A stop is provided within the socket for limiting the penetration of the bar into the socket.

Abstract:

A device for testing the tip-ring polarity of telephone jacks includes a battery and an LED, the device being capable of being plugged into a jack. When a diode is placed across the jack, the LED will light if the final terminals of the jack are wired with the correct tip-ring polarity. The disclosure teaches that the diode may be incorporated in various types of packages and may be connected across the jack in several different ways.
