Abstract:
A method for increase receiver efficiency in a multimode communication device includes a first step of monitoring a received signal strength of a neighboring cell on a receiver channel. A next step includes determining a noise on the receiver channel from a transmitter power amplifier of the communication device. A next step includes comparing the level of interference with a predetermined threshold and with respect to the signal strength. A next step includes blanking the receiver when the transmitter power amplifier of the communication device is on and if the predetermined threshold is not exceeded indicating excessive self-interference.

Abstract:
A communication circuit () and method updates an active link set list () in an asynchronous wireless communication system. In one embodiment, the communication circuit () may be a wireless device () or any other suitable communication device. The communication circuit () includes candidate reference link determination circuitry () to receive an active link set update message () and in response, to create the candidate list of reference links () from the active link set list (). The candidate reference link determination circuitry () creates the candidate list of reference links based on, for example, an indication in the received active link set update message () to retain links from the active link set list ().

Abstract:
A mobile station (102) has electrical circuitry (301) that operates to reduce power consumption. A synthesizer (318) is tuned so that a receiver (314) receives a home radio frequency (RF) signal during a receive slot (504) of a PCH subframe (209). A controller (310) detects if an upcoming subframe has an uplink requirement and if data from the home RF signal indicates that an idle condition exists. If the upcoming subframe does not have an uplink requirement, synthesizer (318) is tuned during a long idle slot (506) of PCH subframe (209) to measure signal strengths of two peripheral RF signals. If the idle condition does exist, electrical circuitry (301) is placed into a low power mode throughout a transmit slot (508), a receive slot (512), a long idle slot (514), and a transmit slot (516).

Abstract:
A radio telephone interface apparatus for speed dialing any of a plurality of stored sequences of digits forming telephone numbers. Pre-stored telephone numbers are stored in an electronic memory. Actuation of switches permits either sequential access to each of the stored telephone numbers or direct, nonsequential access to a desired set of stored telephone numbers. When the telephone numbers are sequentially access, mneumonic information associated with each one of the telephone numbers is provided to a voice synthesizer to provide an aural indication of the telephone numbers stored within individual ones of the directory locations.
Power Control In Spread Spectrum Communications Systems
A method for power control in spread spectrum communication systems includes a first step of providing multiplexed registers coupled to a control circuit and controlled by a TPC-derived control. One register containing an increased power control value and the other register a decreased power control value. A next step includes measuring a transmit power. A next step includes precalculating an increased and decreased power control value using the measured transmit power. Next steps includes comparing precalculated power control values to those previously stored in the registers, and writing only those changed values to their corresponding registers. A next step is receiving TPC information, followed by determining the requested power change from the TPC information, wherein if the information for the next slot is the same as for the current slot, writing the associated precalculated value to the next register to be selected. A last step is applying the value of the next selected register to the control circuit.

Abstract:
Embodiments of the present disclosure may relate to an apparatus with an observation hub that includes a machine-learning model, where the observation hub is to determine a state of an apparatus based at least in part on the machine-learning model and trace data received from one or more trace sources, and alter an operating condition of the apparatus based at least in part on the determined state of the apparatus. Embodiments may also include a multi-buffer trace unit to change one or more of a sort rule, a trigger rule, an enforcement rule, or a filter rule of the multi-buffer trace unit based at least in part on the determined state of the apparatus. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus are for receiving a set of individual congestion reports, wherein each individual congestion report comprises a set of congestion values and an associated location. Each individual congestion report has been generated by one of a plurality of user devices operating in a wireless communication system and is based on at least one of a downlink congestion value, an uplink congestion value, and a core congestion value. The set of individual congestion reports is correlated to form one or more local congestion reports. One or more local congestion reports are transmitted to a user device. Additionally or alternatively, user device application interactions with a user device are altered based on the one or more local congestion reports. Additionally or alternatively, network performance parameters are altered to reduce congestion in at least on region based on one or more local congestion reports.
