A method, system, and computer program product for determining an optimal database refresh rate is provided. The method includes simulating a shopping system that includes a plurality of databases, the simulating including updating the plurality of databases in accordance with a database refresh rate. The method also includes repeating the simulating for each of a number of database refresh rates and calculating error rates for availability of product determinations resulting from each of the simulations. The method further includes estimating customer satisfaction levels for the error rates and comparing the customer satisfaction levels to corresponding costs of implementing database refreshes corresponding to each of the database refresh rates.

The entity provides at least one product or service. The method also includes defining and applying at least one domain to each audience type operable for differentiating among audience types. The method further includes converting the schedule date to a lead time to ship date and/or lead time to arrival date, and generating an availability message based upon the audience type of the user. Methods, systems and program products for providing automated and consistent sales offerings availability messages, whereby a user type is identified, a catalog appropriate for such user type is provided and then a quantity of a sales offering is selected from the catalog. Availability data feeds are provided that may include real-time availability data feeds, batch availability data feeds, and combinations thereof. The user type and availability data feeds are then used to generate a sales offering availability message for the selected quantity of sales offering. The generated sales offering availability message is then transmitted to a commerce component for viewing, whereby the sales offering availability message may be viewed by and customized to user types including customers, business partners, distributors, internal sales and administrative support staff. Depending upon the user type, the sales offering availability message is viewed in a display showing lead time availability or supply line availability.

Abstract:
A method, system, and computer program product for collaborative and integrated intellectual property management are provided. The method includes defining a sequence of phases for an intellectual property management model. The phases are defined by task-based components in conjunction with a workflow component and a messaging component. The task-based components specify a sequence of tasks implemented for achieving a desired outcome for a respective phase and also specify at least one of a resource and a role assigned to implement one or more of the sequence of tasks. A portion of the task-based components interact and share information with others of the task-based components via the workflow component and messaging component, thereby integrating operations between respective task-based components and phases. The method also includes applying the intellectual property management model to a set of inputs associated with data corresponding to a request to protect a proposed idea or concept.
