Abstract:
A method, system, and computer program product for determining an optimal database refresh rate is provided. The method includes simulating a shopping system that includes a plurality of databases, the simulating including updating the plurality of databases in accordance with a database refresh rate. The method also includes repeating the simulating for each of a number of database refresh rates and calculating error rates for availability of product determinations resulting from each of the simulations. The method further includes estimating customer satisfaction levels for the error rates and comparing the customer satisfaction levels to corresponding costs of implementing database refreshes corresponding to each of the database refresh rates.
Folding umbrellas which close into a compact condition, for convenience in storage and portability are, of course, well known. To such umbrella, having the characterizing closing mode in which lower rib portions fold bodily against upper rib portions, there are provided, in one embodiment, cooperating closure panels which move towards each other from opposite sides against the bodily folded ribs and are joined to each other, by snaps, zipper, or the like, so as to effectively serve as an integral cover for the umbrella and, in another embodiment, a sock-like tube which is pulled over the folded-closed umbrella thereby serving as a closure for same.
An umbrella which opens into a noteworthy enlarged expanse due to outer fabric-supporting struts being urged through sliding movement along inner fabric-supporting struts, so that the two fabrics cooperate to provide the enlarged expanse to the umbrella.
A folding umbrella, particularly useful as a beach umbrella, in which circumferentially spaced outer ribs are slidably disposed on cooperating struts as the undersupport of the fabric cover, and in one extreme position of the slides, the umbrella opens to a radius of approximately 42 inches, and in an opposite slide position, the umbrella closes to a radius of approximately 32 inches, the 10 inch difference being the result of slide movement of the end of the rib along a strut which produces an internal fold in a central location of the fabric cover and thus diminishes its size accordingly.
Umbrella With Telescoping Tubes, Tube Latching Means With Spring Urgency, And Fabric Cover That Hides The Latch When Cover Is Closed
An open spaced apart patio sun umbrella which, when the top thereof is raised, undergoes a reshaping into an inverted v-shape closed condition and makes, to the extent it is raised, the location of an unlatching mechanism within convenient reach of a user making unobserved unlatching contact therewith through the bottom opening of the v-shape, even though the unlatching mechanism is masked from view.
A folding umbrella in which articulatingly connected inner and outer rib members are supported by a single slidably disposed strut providing a large diameter in use, and a substantially reduced size when closed. The paired rib members are covered on their exterior by a fabric and are foldable against the rod so as to be all parallel to the rod.
A folding umbrella of the type in which a lower section closes upon an upper section, as both these sections close upon the umbrella rod, and wherein this closing movement is automatically achieved, i. e. is the result of articulating or pivotal movement of the umbrella ribs, rather than being movement that must be manually imparted.
