Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of N-aryl amine and N-aryl amide compounds. Generally, the process of the present invention involves reacting a compound having a primary or secondary amino or amido group with an arylating compound, in the presence of a weak base and a transition metal catalyst, under reaction conditions effective to form an N-aryl amine or N-aryl amide compound, the transition metal catalyst comprising a Group 8 metal, e. g. , Ni, Pd, or Pt, and at least one carbene-containing ligand. Typically, the transition metal catalyst is formed in a preceding step from the conjugate acid form of the carbene ligand, a stoichiometric amount of a strong base, and a Group 8 metal atom or ion.

Abstract:
This invention relates to the preparation of the subject aqueous solution from a non-bromine manganous salt. More specifically this invention pertains to a critical order of dissolving such salt and elemental bromine and to the use of an anti-oxidant for the manganous ion to prevent its conversion to hydrated manganous dioxide: MnO(OH). sub. 2. According to "A Comprehensive Treatise On Inorganic And Theoretical Chemistry", J. W. Mellor, Vol. XII at pages 189 and 259 (published by Longmans, Green and Co. , 1947) hydrated manganous dioxide results from the oxidation of a solution of manganous salt with chlorine, bromine, hypochlorous acid, hydrogen peroxide, etc. Such oxidation of a solution of manganous acetate was specifically mentioned. Such hydrated manganous dioxide is described as a white solid product which upon standing in contact with air becomes a dark brown to black product identified as MnO. sub. 2. The same reference at page 381 reports the preparation of manganous bromide by reaction of bromine with a solution of manganous oxide.

Abstract:
A system and method for automated securities portfolio synchronization is provided. The system includes a lead trader account database, a follower account database, and a trade determination system. A follower provides a lead trader identification which is used to retrieve a lead trader portfolio from the lead trader account database for display to the Follower. The contents of the lead trader portfolio are compared to securities already owned by the follower and to a list of securities not to be purchased that is retrieved from the follower account database. The follower may then make adjustments to the lead trader portfolio and synchronize their portfolio to that of the lead trader.
