Abstract:

The invention comprises a buoyancy compensator for supporting an air cylinder to the back of a scuba diver. The buoyancy compensator comprises a vest to be worn about the divers torso and an inflatable air bladder assembly interconnected to the vest by tank straps which rigidly secure the air cylinder of the vest in a backpack configuration. The inflatable bladder assembly comprises a horseshoe-shaped configuration positioned over the cylinder with the sides of the air bladder assembly being positioned along the opposing sides of the air cylinder so at to not obstruct the divers view or freedom of movement. The vest of the buoyancy compensator comprises a back section, an adjustable torso section, adjustable shoulder strap sections connected to the adjustable torso section and adjustable left and right waistband sections. The vertical adjustment of the torso section relative to the vest allows the height of the buoyancy compensator to be easily adjusted.

Abstract:

A telescoping boat tower apparatus attachable atop a deck structure of a boat. The apparatus includes lower and upper frame assemblies each including spaced upright tubular supports, the lower frame assembly supports attachable at a lower end thereof to the deck. The tubular supports of the upper assembly are connected at an upper end to a standing platform positioned above a console of the boat. The upper frame assembly includes spaced upright elongated second tubular supports, which are connected at an upper end thereof to a body support rail and held in telescoping coaxial alignment and registry with corresponding first tubular members whereby the upper frame assembly is slidably movable vertically with respect to the lower frame assembly. An elongated sealed interior chamber defined between at least one pair of corresponding first and second tubular supports is connected to a source of pressurized fluid introducible into the chamber whereby the upper frame assembly is vertically movable with respect to the lower frame assembly.

Abstract:

A variable riser conduit for the adjustable vertical positioning of a fire hydrant both in conjunction with, and subsequent to, completing the hydrant installation. The riser conduit is formed of a housing which may be tubular, having a passageway therethrough and also having annular collars disposed around and adjacent each end margin of the passage. These collars cooperate with mating flanges on the shoe of the hydrant at one end and the water main or auxiliary valve at the other end to provide a water tight mechanically restrained joint when a split restraint collar is secured and tightened in place behind each annular collar. The ends of the passage are parallel and laterally offset or disposed one to another such that, when the restraint collar is loose or loosened, the riser conduit may be rotated with respect to both hydrant and water main. Because the water main is fixed within the ground, only the height of the hydrant is varied to a desired upright repositioning with respect to grade level before the split restraint collars are retightened.
