Abstract:

The presently disclosed system comprises a pouch to house a pumpable product, a pouch fitment that can be associated with a pump, and an enclosing carton for containing the pouch and fitment. In some embodiments, the system can further comprise a pump operatively connected to the pouch and carton to dispense the pouch contents. The pouch is advantageously configured within the carton in an U-shaped arrangement, allowing the controlled dispensing of a pumpable product.

Abstract:

A packaged product comprises a packaging article and a product surrounded by the packaging article. The packaging article comprises a flexible packaging film. The packaging article has a seal along one edge thereof, the seal comprising two seals each having a gap therein, i. e. , a vent, which allows air within the package to escape during stacking of the bags on, for example, a pallet. The vents also allow air to reenter the bag so that the bags maintain a uniform appearance for display and sale. The vents are offset from one another, to provide a tortuous path into and out of the packaging article, to minimize the escape of the product and the entry of foreign objects.

Abstract:

A package and method of creating a package for dispensing a product are disclosed. The package comprises a flexible pouch comprising an elongated spout and a flowable product disposed within the pouch. A spout retainer is disposed on an exterior surface of the pouch adjacent to the spout, with opposite ends of the spout retainer attached to the exterior surface of the pouch to form two bridges, each of the bridges having a bridge width that is wider than a spout width to allow the spout to pass underneath each of the two bridges. The package may be manufactured on a vertical form-fill-seal machine where the pouch and spout retainer are formed from different supplies of film material.
