Abstract:

A method is provided for lossily compressing time series data that is collected from a storage area network. The method includes: determining the resolution of an output device that may be used to output a representation of the time series data; determining a sampling block size that is in part based on the resolution of the output device; partitioning the plurality of data points into a plurality of data blocks in accordance with the sampling block size; and applying retention criteria to each of the plurality of data blocks, thereby compressing the time series data to be output by the output device.

Abstract:

Systems and methods for providing an automated diagnostic audit for computer cluster systems are provided. One such method includes receiving information associated with the cluster computer system, the information comprising a plurality of system configuration parameters for each of the plurality of nodes in the cluster computer system; defining a plurality of system configuration categories associated with the plurality of system configuration parameters and a threshold benchmark for each of the plurality of system configuration categories, each of the threshold benchmarks based on a predefined set of rules; associating each of a portion of the plurality of system configuration parameters for each of the plurality of nodes with one of the plurality of system configuration categories; and generating audit information, the audit information based on a comparison of each of the portions for each of the plurality of nodes to the threshold benchmark for the associated system configuration category.

The present invention encrypts authentication information into an image, document or recording. A method and apparatus is provided for auditing the security configuration of an enterprise having plural nodes. The method comprises collecting security information from the nodes of the enterprise under audit, analyzing the security information and providing a first result of this analysis; and then comparing this first result with a second result comprising security standards applicable to the enterprise under audit and one or more other enterprises that together form a relevant peer group, the result of this comparing step indicating the security of the enterprise under audit relative to that of the peer group of enterprises.
