My daughter wrote this poem when she was only 12. Its still my most prized possession so i thought i'd share with you all.... Enjoy. Daddy Daddy I want to tell you something Daddy, I think you ought to hear I want to ask you something Daddy Ive been wondering for years. But maybe first I should ask if I may call you by that name Do you really deserve a title you never wanted to claim. For twelve long years Daddy, not once have you been near I have learned to count on mommy; shes the one whos always here. Youve always known right where I was and still you never called,and now suddenly youre there when the lawyers get involved. Daddy, I am appalled. How much do you know about me Daddy, whats my favorite meal. When you realize you dont know me Daddy, how does it make you feel. I gave you a chance, I figured youd explain, but you blew it again Daddy, wheres your brain! It makes me sad to know theres men like you in this world. Men that dont deserve a chance to know their little girls. Im a caring person Daddy, I truly am And if this hurts you Daddy, maybe now you understand Do you like the way it feels Daddy, to be thrown off to the side Im just glad I never wasted tears, Ive been to busy to cry You will never walk me down the isle and we will not meet again so youll never get a smile Thats how its meant to be Daddy if you even care If you think Im heartless Daddy, I only think its fair Well Daddys little princess is what Ill never be But thats just fine Daddy, my mommy loves me
