Abstract:

An eyeglass frame assembly for coupling clip-on auxiliary spectacles to primary spectacles. The primary spectacles having a pair of cavities formed on the inside surface of rear extensions and the clip-on spectacles having a pair of pins mounted to the outside surface of a pair of hinged extensions, wherein the pins are capable of positively engaging the cavities by exerting outward forces. The hinged extensions allow the clip-on spectacles to swing up and to place the auxiliary lenses mounted within the clip-on spectacles to be outside the vision path of the user.

Abstract:

A method and apparatus for mitigating inter-cell interference in an OFDMA-based wireless communication system is disclosed. The method includes the steps of, providing at least a frame in a base station to a plurality of mobile stations; dividing the frame into a plurality of subcarriers; assigning a demarcation line within the frame to divide the plurality of subcarriers into a first zone and a second zone; defining a time reuse parameter for the plurality of subcarriers within the first zone; defining a frequency reuse parameter for the plurality of subcarriers within the first zone; and loading the plurality of subcarriers within the first zone according the time reuse parameter and the frequency parameter.

Abstract:

A captive fastener for use with eyeglass assemblies is disclosed. The captive fastener comprises at least one fastening member which includes a first end and a second end. The first end comprising a hollow member with an inner cavity volume that is adapted for receiving an aciculate end of a first component of an eyeglass assembly. The hollow member has an outer volume that is defined to be inserted into a second component of the eyeglass assembly having an opening therein, for removeably fastening together the first component with the second component. The captive fastener also comprises a stopping collar formed around the outer volume of the hollow member between the first end of the fastening member and the second end of the fastening member for defining an insertable depth by the first end of the fastening member into the opening of the second member.

A versatile system for controlling and managing resources for Soft Handoff Group operations is disclosed. The system determines which of a plurality of sectors in an access network is a serving sector for an access terminal. An active set of the plurality of sectors is assigned to the access terminal, comprising the serving sector. A soft handoff set for the access terminal is identified from the active set. A soft handoff group for the access terminal is identified from the soft handoff set. The access terminal's transmissions within the access network are managed according to the identified soft handoff group.
