A removable wireless communication module includes a connector configured to removably connect to an external port of a host device. The connector includes a power supply input connecting element to receive electrical power from the host device, at least one audio connecting element to receive audio signals from the host device and to transmit audio signals to the host device. The communication module is configured to transmit audio signals received from the host device to a remote device according to a predefined wireless communications protocol. The communication module is further configured to receive audio signals from a remote device and output the received audio signals to the host device.
A portable video display system (PVDS) provides convenience of presenting video data to users in a variety of situations, such as while the users may be traveling. A PVDS can store video data through removable and/or installed memory, including a disc, and present the video through a video display, providing an autonomous video storage and display system that is portable such that users may experience video presentations conveniently under many circumstances. Common applications include use while a user is traveling, commuting, on vacation, and present in other places and situations where portable entertainment is desired. A PVDS may be used with headphones to increase privacy and minimize disturbance to others nearby while PVDS is in use. A PVDS may also have the ability to present other media data such as image data and/or audio data.
A portable communication device which has a built-in microphone and a speaker is provided for releasable connection to a multimedia player, for wirelessly transmitting playback signals that are receive from the multimedia player to an external multimedia receiver for playback thereon. The device can also wirelessly communicate with a wireless phone such that a user can make hands-free phone calls through the wireless phone with the use of the microphone and the speaker of the device.
A communication device includes a portable housing and a processor housed in the housing. The processor is configured to receive first signals from an external audio player. A transmitter is housed in the housing for wirelessly transmitting second signals to an external receiver in accordance with a first communication protocol such that sounds corresponding to the second signals can be produced through a speaker system of the external receiver. A communication module is also housed in the housing for wirelessly communicating with a wireless phone in accordance with a second communication protocol such that third signals associated with a phone call can be transmitted between the wireless phone and the processor. The device is provided with a headset having a microphone and an earpiece. The headset is configured so as to be connected to the processor such that the phone call can be made through the wireless phone with the use of the headset.

The body alarm system includes a main control unit, a satellite connector, and a power supply, and the satellite device includes a satellite device satellite control unit, a body connector, an alarm signal unit, and a battery.

An alarm and monitoring system including a primary device and at least one secondary device, the alarm and monitoring system including a transceiver that receives a notification signal from a primary device or a secondary device, the notification signal including the alarm event signal; a controller coupled to the transceiver, the controller being configured to receive the notification signal from the transceiver and generate a rendering signal; and a rendering device coupled to the controller, the rendering device being configured to receive the rendering signal and render an alarm event, wherein the primary device receives the notification signal from a cloud system, and wherein the cloud system receives a communication signal from a linked user device or an external services server and forwards the notification signal to the primary device.
