Abstract:

A tissue tensioning electrostimulator device. The device includes a plurality of laterally separable electrodes for placement against bodily tissue and for discharging electric current thereon. The device also includes a power circuit in electrical communication with the electrodes and electrically connectable to a power supply for energizing the electrodes. The device also includes stored electrotherapy regimens based on user characteristics. The device also includes a microprocessor having logic for selecting an electrotherapy regimen for a user of the tissue tensioning electrostimulator device based on characteristics of the user of the tissue tensioning electrostimulator device.

Abstract:

A microneedle roller includes a plurality of discs, each of which comprises a first side surface, a second side surface and a center hole. The first side surface comprises a plurality of radial grooves, and the discs are stacked on one another in a way that the first side surface of one disc contacts the second side surface of the adjacent disc. The microneedle roller further includes a plurality of microneedles that are received in the radial grooves of the disc, and each of which has a pointed end. The pointed end protrudes beyond the outer circumference of the disc. The microneedle comprises an elongated cylindrical needle shank, a first sloped portion that starts from the pointed end, and a second sloped portion that is provided between the first sloped portion and the second sloped portion. The angle of the first sloped portion is greater.

Abstract:

An electrically conductive microneedle roller includes stacked discs, each of which includes a plurality of radial grooves, a plurality of microneedles that are received in the radial grooves of the disc, an electrically conductive bracket that supports the stacked discs, and a handle that supports the bracket. Electric current flows to the skin via the microneedles and provides electric stimulation. The discs are assembled using UV bond thereby reducing the assembly time. The roller has enhanced service life since the microneedles do not fall off from the roller since radial grooves holding the microneedles have tapered shape.

Abstract:

Disclosed herein include methods, compositions, and kits suitable for use in spatiotemporal regulation of therapeutic T-cells through a combination of molecular and physical actuation. There are provided, in some embodiments, thermal bioswitches that allow T-cells to sense small changes in temperature and use them as inputs for the actuation of genetic circuits. Also disclosed herein are T cell activity sensors. Genetic circuits capable of inducing expression of a payload upon thermal stimulation and/or immune cell stimulation are provided. There are provided, in some embodiments, thermally actuated immune cells and methods of using are provided. Oscillator circuits and methods of preventing T cell exhaustion are also disclosed.

Abstract:

An apparatus for carrying, retrieving, and characterizing temperature and current-voltage properties of a solar cell may include a metal core printed circuit board (PCB). The metal core PCB includes current-voltage and temperature measurement electronics operated by a remote device via a communication unit. The solar cell is embedded onto the metal core PCB by way of a thermally- and electrically-conducting adhesive material. The current-voltage and temperature electronics and the solar cell are thermally connected to the PCB, and are electrically isolated from each other, while residing on the same plane.
