Some skills I acquired while working in Emergency/ Critical Care: Very proficient in phlebotomy, sterile IV catheter placement. Able to identify signs/symptoms of an animals condition Able to collect data to assist the doctor in making diagnoses Run blood work on several types of machines including - Abaxis, VetScan, Spotchem, and various others. From time to time, maintain and calibrate these machines after hours. I have set many Arrow, multi-lumen, long line IV catheters, ensuring sterile blood collection on animals hospitalized for extended periods and allowing for CVP measurements. Able to set up invasive blood pressure via arterial catheter and Datascope ECG monitor. Calculate fluid rates and set up fluid pumps. Manual CBC/Platelet counts. I have very good communication skills and feel that I am very personable. Proficient at setting up, reading, troubleshooting many types of medical equipment. Including - ECG monitors, Invasive and non-invasive blood pressure, fluid pumps, syringe pumps, capnograph, ventilator, and anesthetic machines.
