Kay S Lawrence is a Doctoral candidate at Queensland College of Art, Griffith University. She sees art in all its forms as a means of communication, with the ability to connect people and places and lead to greater cultural understanding. Her interdisciplinary art practice critically engages with anthropological, physical and spiritual aspects of her surroundings, interweaving image, metaphor and abstraction. Her current research seeks understanding of how the visual and other sensual qualities of fibre and digital imagery contribute to understanding the complex relationship between time, space and the body. She utilises these significant connections to address social justice and environmental issues.
