Abstract:

A cryogenic coupling device includes a valved receptacle and a valved nozzle. Rollers in an outer collar of the receptacle are received in helical channels along a collar of the nozzle. A notch or detent in each of the channels provides a vent position to vent fluid before the nozzle is fully disconnected from the receptacle. Interface seals on the nozzle include first and second annular seals that function as ice and containment scrapers, as well as fluid seals. The nozzle has a rotatable handle assembly, isolated from the fluid path, which provides easy connect and disconnect of the nozzle from the receptacle. The handle assembly includes a thermal break, and is easily removable from the nozzle, along with other parts of the nozzle and receptacle, for service and maintenance.

Stent delivery systems and methods for making and using the same are disclosed. An example stent delivery system may include an inner member having a proximal end. A sleeve may be coupled to the inner member adjacent to the proximal end. A deployment sheath may be disposed about the inner member. A gear rack assembly may be coupled to the deployment sheath. A stent may be disposed between the inner member and the deployment sheath. A handle may be coupled to the inner member and to the deployment sheath. The handle may include an actuation member. The actuation member may be coupled to the gear rack assembly so that actuation of the actuation member shifts the longitudinal position of the gear rack assembly and the deployment sheath. An engagement mechanism may be coupled to the gear rack assembly.

Abstract:

A push-to-connect type coupler has an intermediate venting position for the nipple. The coupler includes a coupler socket having an inner sleeve, an intermediate coupler body, and an outer sleeve formed from tubular or cylindrical components which are axially movable with respect to one another. A valve member is disposed axially within the coupler and is normally biased into a closed position. The inner sleeve of the coupler is spring-biased toward the opening of the coupler, and includes an inner set of captive coupling balls. The coupler body also has an outer set of captive coupling balls, and a locking mechanism is disposed between the coupler body and the outer sleeve. When the nipple is inserted into the coupler, the nipple is retained by the interaction of the outer set of coupling balls with a deep groove in the inner sleeve, and the inner set of coupling balls with a channel formed in the nipple. The nipple also opens the valve member within the coupler, thus allowing pressurized air to pass through the coupler. When the nipple is to be removed, the outer sleeve is initially moved rearwardly (upstream), the outer set of coupling balls move radially outward, which allows the inner sleeve, and hence the nipple, to move outwardly a predetermined amount until the outer set of coupling balls engages a shallow groove in the inner sleeve.

Abstract:

An implantable medical lead may include an electrode at a distal portion of the lead that is configured to monitor or provide therapy to a target site. The lead may include a visible indicator that is visible to the naked eye of a clinician at a medial portion of the lead that is configured to indicate when the electrodes of the lead are longitudinally and radially aligned properly to monitor or treat the target site. A clinician may insert the lead into the patient using an introducer sheath inserted to a predetermined depth into the patient and subsequently aligning the distal portion of the lead by orienting the indicator at an entry port of the introducer sheath.

Abstract:

A medical fixation device which may include an elongate body with a proximal portion, a distal portion, and define a longitudinal axis extending therethrough. A first fixation member on the proximal portion of the elongate body and a second fixation member on the distal portion of the elongate body may also be included with the medical fixation device. The first fixation member and the second fixation member may each have a delivery configuration in which the first fixation member and the second fixation member are collapsed along the longitudinal axis, and an anchoring configuration in which the first fixation member and the second fixation member each extend radially outward from the elongate body, define a septal aperture therebetween, and each have a tip facing away from each other.
