Abstract:

According to an embodiment, an apparatus for detecting a characteristic of a pump includes: a housing having a first planar surface and a second planar surface opposite the first planar surface, a mount structure located on the second planar surface, wherein the mount structure is configured to facilitate attachment of the apparatus on an external surface of the triplex pump, and wherein the mount structure avoids penetrating an inside surface of the triplex pump. Advantageously, apparatus is a non-invasive device and does not involve modifications to the pump nor opening the lid of the pump.

Abstract:

The present disclosure involves methods, systems and computer program products for calibrating a measuring device to ensure that its overall accuracy is improved. The method includes generating a profile of a first and second device. The profiles may be generated using one or more profiling scenarios. The method includes comparing a profile of the second device against a profile of the first device, automatically adjusting the profile of the second device such that it substantially matches the profile of the first device, and transferring the adjusted profile to the second device. The transferring of the adjusted profile to the second device causes the second device to provide substantially the same output as the first device in response to the same input parameter.

Abstract:

A strapping device for a pipe and methods of using the strapping device to non-invasively detect pressure inside the pipe and the residual stress exerted on the pipe. The strapping device includes a linked or a solid band adapted to be fitted around an outside diameter of the pipe. The strapping device further includes a sensor for measuring at least one of a change in the outside diameter of the pipe due to a corresponding change in pressure inside the pipe and to detect the stress or strain transferred from the pipe. The measurements can be conveniently processed in a circuit board coupled to the strapping device or in a remote location. The measurements can be transmitted through wires or digitally transmitted to the circuit board.
