Abstract:

Photographic film, paper, etc. in sheet form or sealed within a pouch, is packaged in containers. An adjustable bracing or chocking element allows standard size containers to be used to package custom finished film sheets. The chocking element is securely attached to the bottom of a shell, and spaced apart from the walls of the shell. A pouch or stack of sheets is disposed between the chocking element and a pair of substantially orthogonal walls to restrain movement of the pouch or sheets relative to the bottom of the shell.

Abstract:

A roll of photographic film where a film strip is coiled about a spool with a film leader attached to the film strip. The film leader includes a tongue portion, a tear line defining a tear-out region in the tongue portion, and an adhesive which is applied to the tear-out region. The tear-out region is bonded to an underlying convolution of the film leader when the film leader is wound on said roll. When a user lifts the film leader from the roll, the tear line is ruptured allowing the tear-out region to remain affixed to the underlying convolution of the film leader. This, in turn yields a hole in the film leader which can be used to attach the film loader to a take-up spool within a camera.

Abstract:

Photographic film, paper, etc. in sheet form is packaged in recyclable containers or cases for reuse by returning to suppliers for filling. Containers obviate disposal problems and high costs associated with customary two-part set-up box and interior padding. Plastic cases comprise a base section in the form of a tray-like structure with an open bed for a film stack, etc. Case has built-in structural features for rigidity, crush resistance, impact protection, and air, dust and light tight seal when used with a cover section. Such environmentally friendly designs are suitable as low cost, reusable one-size plastic containers for packaging standard size sheet products. For packaging special, less frequently called-for size films, papers, etc. , interiors may be made infinitely adjustable with rows of parallel channels for placement of at least one chocking element.

Abstract:

A photographic film roll. The roll includes a length of photosensitive web material wound about a spool and a light-shielding member wound about the length of photosensitive web material. The light-shielding member includes a transverse fold line spaced from one end of the light-shielding member defining a tongue portion. Applied on an exterior side of the tongue portion is an adhesive. The adhesive tongue portion is bondable to an exterior side of an underlying convolution of the light-shielding member when the light-shielding member is wound about the length of photosensitive web material.

Abstract:

An indicator on a film cartridge to indicate whether a film cartridge has been used in a photographic camera. The film cartridge includes a spool having an elongate coaxial hole open at one end. An indicator, disposed within the coaxial hole, is deformable from a first state to a second state in response to the film cartridge being received by a plunger in the photographic camera; the second state being visually different than the first state. The indicator has a continuous, non-punctured, non-fractured configuration when in both the first and second states.

Abstract:

Surgical apparatus and associated methods of use are provided for retracting tissue around an incision. The apparatus includes a member having an inner peripheral surface and an outer peripheral surface. An adjustable aperture is definable within the inner peripheral surface as the member is adjusted between a compressed condition in which the aperture is substantially closed and an expanded condition in which the aperture is substantially open. The apparatus is positioned within a surgical incision in the compressed condition, and is adjusted to the expanded condition in situ to define an opening within the incision through the aperture whereby a surgical field may be viewed and/or accessed.
