Abstract:

Flexible material clamp discloses two parts, triangular bar and rigid clamp having congruent triangular channel. The bar has base and two major inclined surfaces meeting at acute angle, length of the major surfaces being at least three times base height. Clamp has internal triangular channel whose major surfaces are congruent to major surfaces of triangular bar. One clamp end opens into apex of the channel and at least one side of clamp opens to triangular channel. One end of flexible material to be clamped is wrapped about triangular bar and overlapped upon itself. The wrapped bar is inserted into clamp channel though the at least one open side of clamp and flexible material is passed through clamp opening at channel apex. Assembled wrapped bar and clamp connect to tensioning means causing clamp and bar to move relative to one another to lock flexible material between major surfaces of triangular bar and corresponding major surfaces of triangular clamp channel, locking flexible material in channel.

Abstract:

Tensioning assembly mounted to or incorporated into a display device which is in the form of one or more display faces made from a substantially flexible polymer and which is mounted on a frame about its peripheral portions such that sufficient or a predetermined amount of tension is placed on the face so as to at least somewhat resemble a rigid plate or face. Tensioning devices may be attached to the face in opposed relation to one another and these tensioning devices may be in the form of a connecting unit which serves to interconnect the face to the frame while at the same time placing the desired amount of tension thereon. The display device may be interiorly lighted by providing a lighting assembly on the interior of the frame adjacent to the flexible face so as to transmit light thereto and clearly display any indicia formed on the face. The connecting unit comprises connector assemblies spaced approximately nine inches on center relative to the frame and to the display face such that the amount of tension placed on the face may be regulated by the engagement of these connector assemblies with the peripheral portion of the face around the periphery edge of the display device.

Abstract:

A sign and process of making a sign which comprises applying vinyl graphics to a backside of a substrate by use of high pressure rollers laminating machine or squeegee and covering the back side of the substrate and graphics by a backing sheet. The graphics and backing sheet may be applied by a laminating machine or squeegee and secured in place by a self-adhesive. Applying the laminated film on the reverse side has a protection quality that a slik screened or spray painted face does not have since the vinyl protects the rear side of the face against scratching during installation of the face and/or transportation of the sign.

Abstract:

A portable display device having a base comprising running gear which includes a plurality of wheels and a pulling tongue wherein the wheels may be detachably secured to the base such that the base may be permanently affixed to a given location. A sign is reciprocally mounted on the base by means of a supporting frame such that the sign may be raised or lowered to any desired position through the operation of a lifting mechanism in the form of a power or manually operated winch connected to the sign by a pulley and cable arrangement. Abstract:

An illuminated display means is shown having, in combination, a support and a double faced sign frame. The structure includes a support having rigid arms for holding the sign frame in a generally vertical position for display of both of the faces thereof. The sign frame is formed of an extruded aluminum strip that is shaped to have protruding flange means adapted to slide into engagement with rigid arms on the support to permit easy and quick assembly of the sign frame on its support means. Preferably, a vertical support post is provided having the rigid arms extending horizontally therefrom on both sides of the post to provide a balanced multiple sign display.

Abstract:

A sign structure is shown for universal mounting on generally vertically extending support means. The body of the sign is simple to manufacture and is formed of extruded aluminum bar stock in a manner to have a rigidifying mounting flange surrounding the perimeter of the sign, the flange being also provided for attaching the sign to the support means. The sign is fully sealed against the elements and may be illuminated by suitable means preferably positioned within the inside of the body of the sign.
