Abstract:

An apparatus for computing node mapping within a server rack, and a method therefore, are discussed. The apparatus includes a processor configured to control a transceiver to receive a request to register computing nodes installed in a server rack; provide, in response to determining that a scan of a respective node tag of a computing node of the computing nodes installed in a server rack is different than a particular order, an alert indicating an out of order scan; add, in response to determining that the scan of the respective node tag of the computing node complies with the particular order, respective node information received via the respective node tag to server rack node information; and after completing the iterative scan of the respective node tags of the computing nodes installed in the server rack, provide the server rack node information to the administrator system.

Abstract:

A system and method include receiving, by a search system of a virtual computing system, a search query via a search console, converting the search query into a structured query, and retrieving search results based on the structured query. The system and method further include activating a subset of widgets that satisfy a condition based on the search results and determining a view for each activated widget. Each widget is configured to display a particular type of the search results and the view for each widget is based upon a number of the search results of the particular type that the widget is configured to display. The system and method additionally include displaying the activated widget on the search console according to the view of that widget.

A request to create a set of security policies for an application is received at a graphical user interface. Information identifying a set of source VMs, a set of destination VMs, and a set of target VMs also are received, wherein the target VMs are executing the application and are supported by (a) node(s) in a clustered virtualization environment. A set of inbound rules identifying (a) category(ies) of source VMs permitted to initiate connections with a subset of target VMs and a set of outbound rules identifying (a) category(ies) of destination VMs to which the subset of target VMs are permitted to initiate connections are received at the graphical user interface. Upon receiving a request to apply the security policies, the policies are configured based at least in part on the inbound and outbound rules and a visual representation of the security policies is presented in the graphical user interface.

Abstract:

A system and method include receiving, by a navigation and search system of a virtual computing system, a user input via a navigation interface of the navigation and search system. The system and method also include retrieving a page corresponding to the user input, parsing the user input and associating one or more keywords with the user input for obtaining a structured query, including associating the page with the structured query, and displaying the page in the navigation interface. The system and method further include populating the structured query into a search interface of the navigation and search system. Either the user input via the navigation interface or the structured query via the search interface are usable to navigate to the page.

Abstract:

Systems for rendering graphs in browsers. A method embodiment for generating and manipulating a high-performance graph in a browser commences by receiving a set of node descriptions of the graph as well as a set of edge descriptions of the graph. In a first display layer, one or more HTML primitives are assigned to the individual ones of the set of nodes. In a second display layer, one or more non-HTML display graphical elements are assigned to the individual ones of the set of edges. The edges and nodes are sorted into a painting order based on size. The first layer and the second layer are combined into an HTML document that comprises at least some of the HTML primitives that correspond to the nodes as well as at least some of the non-HTML display graphical elements that correspond to the edges of the graph. The browser renders the graph.
