Abstract:

A universal interconnect device for mounting and interconnecting a semiconductor integrated circuit die in preparation for mounting to another substrate such as a printed circuit board. The device consists of a laminate substrate having a first surface upon which the integrated circuit die may be mounted. Underlying and surrounding the die mount area is a plurality of substantially concentric electrically-conductive paths. Each of the plurality of paths is electrically isolated from each other and at least one of the plurality of electrically-conductive paths is located near an outer periphery of the laminate substrate. A plurality of vias traverse the laminate substrate a plurality of bonding features is mounted on a second surface of the substrate. Each of the bonding features is electrically isolated both from one another and from the plurality of paths but is electrically connectable to one or more of the paths through the plurality of vias.

Abstract:

A supplementary DC power source is coupled to the DC link circuit of an active power line conditioner (APLC) for sustaining uninterrupted AC power to a load during the time interval needed for AC power restoration or for an alternate or a back-up AC source to be brought on line to power the load upon temporary or continued failure of an AC power source. The supplementary DC source is comprised of a rectifier circuit across which is connected a storage capacitor. A boost converter and an auctioneer diode are coupled between the storage capacitor and the DC link circuit so that when the DC link drops in voltage in response to a sag in the AC source voltage upon loss of the AC voltage source, the necessary power is provided by the storage capacitor and boost converter. A pair of fast acting switches are also coupled between the AC source and the power bus feeding the inverters to isolate the AC source from the APLC and the load upon loss of the AC source. When the back-up AC source is required and comes up to voltage and is synchronized with the APLC, the fast acting switches are again closed to connect the back-up AC source to the APLC and the load.

A contingent aid device, system, and method are disclosed including a cavity with lid to hold a medicine, a control module, a lid status sensor, a medicine status sensor, a user-activatable tactile input, a status indicator module, a display screen, a communication module, a global positioning system module, an altimeter, a voice-in module, an audio-out module, a digital-in module, and a power source, wherein the device is configured to, without further user-initiated instruction or action, initiate communication with an emergency contact following removal of the medicine from the cavity, following user activation of the user-activatable tactile input, following a first predetermined period of time after opening of the lid without removal of the medicine from the cavity, or following a second predetermined period of time after removal of the medicine from the cavity without user activation of the user-activatable tactile input confirming the medicine has been administered.

The present subject matter provides a system and a method for detecting liquid water. The method includes establishing signal communication between an RFID tag and an RFID reader, monitoring the signal communication between the RFID tag and the RFID reader and determining that liquid water is disposed between the RFID tag and the RFID reader or on the RFID tag if the signal communication between the RFID tag and the RFID reader is disrupted, interrupted or terminated.
