Abstract:

The fluid collection system for ring events comprises a mat, an extraction port and connector, a flexible hose and wet vacuum source. The mat has raised edges to support a sloped surface that gravity feeds the extraction port and raised gasket depressions to support a ring stool. The extraction port has apertures for drainage and is connected to the flexible hose and wet vacuum source by the extraction port connector. This connector fits into at the rear of the extraction port at the 90Â angle of the mat. The mat is hinged to allow it to fold in either direction for rapid deployment and removal. When the mat is deployed, all fluids distributed in the competitors corners will be removed by aide of gravity and the wet vacuum source, leaving the surfaces clean and dry. The fluid collection system promotes safety, hygienic, fair ring event conditions.

Abstract:

An internal combustion engine has an engine shut-down system that automatically interrupts engine operation when vehicle operation indicates that no torque is required from the engine. An air conditioner compressor operates to cool a passenger compartment of the vehicle and is actuated in a first phase time, and is not actuated in a second phase time. An override system compares the time the compressor is in the enabled first phase time to the time the compressor is in the disabled second phase time. The override system disables the engine shut-down system unless it is determined that a ratio of the disabled second phase time to the enabled first phase time has a low rate of change, that the ratio is greater than a predetermined value, and that the time the compressor is in the disabled second phase is greater than a predetermined value.

Abstract:

A temperature control apparatus for an interior of a motor vehicle having a temperature control loop circulating a heat-exchange fluid to a drivetrain component. A thermoelectric heat-pump (Peltier device) is disposed in the vehicle to heat or cool the desired area, and a fluid comfort control loop exchanges heat with the thermoelectric heat-pump and with the drivetrain temperature control loop, increasing the net amount of heating or cooling that can be delivered to the desired location by the thermoelectric heat-pump. The comfort control loop may branch from the drivetrain loop and carry a portion of the heat-exchange fluid carried in the drivetrain loop. Alternatively, the comfort control loop may carry a second heat-exchange fluid that remains separate from the heat-exchange fluid of the drivetrain loop and exchanges heat therewith in a heat exchanger.

A method of controlling a battery electric vehicle includes detecting a vehicle state input and operating an electric heater to heat a fluid.
