An adhesive comprising a combination of high molecular weight acrylic and/or methacrylic esters, which become co-polymerized with low molecular weight acrylic and/or methacrylic esters, and advantageously polymers, such as impact modifiers including graft co-polymer (core-shell and non core-shell) impact modifiers, carboxylic acids, elastomers, and sulfur bearing compositions, such as chlorosulfonated polymers.

Abstract:

Adhesive formulations having acrylate monomer or methacrylate monomer, or mixtures thereof, and having a reducing agent and an initiator (e. g. , peroxide). The formulations may include a chelating agent solution to improve storage stability and other properties. Further, the mole ratio of the initiator to the reducing agent may be adjusted to control weight loss of the adhesives during cure. Polyvinyl acetate or its derivatives may also be employed in the adhesive formulations to reduce weight loss during cure. Moreover, certain embodiments of the formulations include a toughening-agent copolymer having a glass transition temperature (of at least one domain) that is lower than −50 C. (−58 F. ). These toughening-agent copolymers may be added to the adhesive formulations to improve impact strength and other properties of the cured adhesives at lower temperatures, e. g. , −40 C.

Abstract:

A device for automatically lowering a toilet seat. A lowering finger, in slidable connection with a cylinder like chamber, is utilized to create a vacuum in a chamber. The vacuum pressure varies from a metering valve system that thus propels the finger toward the seat in a controlled manner in order to affect a complete lowering of the seat.

Abstract:

A spray aperture disk designed for insertion into a column liner of an electron microscope having a substantially circular shape, a plurality of tabs or extensions located on the circumferential periphery of the disk and a small central aperture. The disk is inserted into the tapered end of a column liner and then deformed by a tool which pushes the disk into position within the column liner. The disk may be removed by inserting a rod of appropriate length and width into the column liner and pushing the disks out. The disks are self centering and require no separate carrier. The disks are made from inexpensive materials and are disposable.
