  • US Patent:
    6712359, Mar 30, 2004
  • Filed:
    Apr 8, 2003
  • Appl. No.:
    10/409224
  • Inventors:
    Kenneth E. Vanlier - Tuscaloosa AL 35106
  • International Classification:
    A63F 300
  • US Classification:
    273237, 273248, 273258, 273287
  • Abstract:
A game involving simultaneous moves by opposing players comprises a game board having separate lanes extending in discreet steps from starting positions to ending positions. Player controlled linked gates control movement along the lanes. Players simultaneously select lanes and gate positions and then move through all open gates in the selected lane. Each time a player reaches the ending position, he scores a point and starts over. A predetermined total score wins the game.

  • US Patent:
    20050242501, Nov 3, 2005
  • Filed:
    May 3, 2004
  • Appl. No.:
    10/837271
  • Inventors:
Kenneth Vanlier - Tuscaloosa AL, US
  • International Classification:
    A63F003/00
  • US Classification:
    273242000
  • Abstract:
A board game preferably for two players involving the movement of a single game piece along a plurality of three types of lanes differentiated on the basis of color, with the lanes having arrowheads showing allowable directions of movement to a plurality of sites including a start site for each player and a score site for each player. Players alternately toss a pair of cubic dice with each die having three sides of one color and three sides of another color corresponding to the colors of the lanes. The single game piece is moved from one site to an adjacent site along one of the lanes corresponding to the uppermost faces shown by the dice. Players win one point when the game piece moves into their score site; and when a player reaches a predetermined winning score, that player wins the game. The game can be played by a single player against an imaginary opponent.
  • Condensing And Collecting Vapors Emanating From A Land Surface

    view source
  • US Patent:
    46075011, Aug 26, 1986
  • Filed:
    Oct 19, 1984
  • Appl. No.:
    6/662552
  • Inventors:
Kenneth E. Vanlier - Reston VA
  • International Classification:
    F25D 2114
  • US Classification:
    62288
  • Abstract:
Vapors of chemicals or minerals in solution, and/or volatile liquids, emanating from a land surface (such as a sanitary landfill) are collected. A first generally cylindrical container encloses the volume of air above an area of land surface, and includes a top surface having an inverted cone shape with a downwardmost point formed by the cone apex. A second generally cylindrical container interfits with the top, inverted cone, first container. The second container is adapted to contain ice, or a like cooling solid or liquid. The second and first containers are of good heat conducting material so that the second container cools the top of the first container. Thus vapors emanating from the land surface condense on the top of the first container, roll down the interior surface thereof to the cone apex, and the condensate drips into a collecting vessel disposed within the first container, below the cone apex. A cover of heat insulating material is placed on top of the first container, and completely surrounds the second container to insulate it from the environment. The insulating cover, and first and second containers are preferably of opaque material, and are dimensioned and shaped so that they nest for ease of transportation.
