We are a Virginia based company, headquartered in Chesapeake, and only originate loans in the state of Virginia. We were founded in January 2005 by Robert Smith, a former vice-president and veteran of over 17 years in the mortgage industry.Our customer centered reputation has resulted in a large percentage of repeat and referral customers. After a 28 year career in manufacturing supervision, I returned to school in 2007 and earned a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Real Estate and Land Development from VCU. Upon graduation, I did a detailed search for the best combination of mortgage product pricing and service, and my wife and I choose Cornerstone to refinance our home loan. After the loan closed in 2009, I asked to join the company, as I believed I could then provide my own customers with the best combination of mortgage products and service which I had already experienced as a customer. While the loan process can be challenging at times in the current lending environment, it is my goal that you will be pleased by our communications and efforts on your behalf, and would be willing to recommend us to your family, friends, and neighbors.
