Abstract:

An electromagnetic wavelength filter that allows the transmission of electromagnetic energy within a narrow range of wavelengths while reflecting incident electromagnetic energy at other wavelengths. The filter includes at least one cavity region; and at least two reflectors surrounding the at least one cavity region, at least one of the reflectors being an omni-directional reflector. The omni-directional reflector includes a structure with a surface and an index of refraction variation perpendicular to the surface, and the omni-directional reflector is specifically configured to exhibit high omni-directional reflection for a predetermined range of frequencies of incident electromagnetic energy for any angle of incidence and any polarization.

Abstract:

An information handling system including a dynamic circuit interface is disclosed. The information handling system may include a processor mounted on a circuit board and a connector provided on the circuit board and electrically coupled to the processor. The connector is configured to receive a first circuit card or a second circuit card. A first circuit is provided on the circuit board and is electrically coupled to the connector, and a second circuit is provided on the circuit board and is also electrically coupled to the connector. A system for producing Erbium Oxide thin films with increased photoluminescence. The system includes a depositing stage for forming Erbium Oxide molecules by reacting Erbium sputtered atoms with Oin a gas phase and creating the Erbium Oxide thin film by depositing the Erbium Oxide molecules on a substrate coated with Silicon Oxide. The system further includes an annealing stage for annealing the Erbium Oxide thin films by utilizing a low temperature treatment for a specified amount of time and temperature followed by a high temperature treatment for another specified amount of time and temperature, wherein the crystallinity of the thin films has improved.

A method of implementing a power-based current limiting circuit in an information handling system includes providing a power supply having an output voltage operating range that can vary between a first voltage output level and a second voltage output level. The power supply output voltage is coupled to a load module via a switch. A power output of the power supply supplied to the load module is detected as a function of the load module current and the output voltage. Abstract:

A system and method that repeat video images in a deinterlacing system. The method comprises detecting a signal requesting an input video image be repeated and determining the desired number of repetitions. The input video image may then be processed to generate an output video image and the output video image may be repeated the desired number of repetitions. The input video images following the repeated image may be held until the repeating is completed, and may then be processed and displayed. Repeating the video image may be utilized to achieve different playback modes such as, for example, slow motion, pause, and video rate conversion.

Abstract:

Techniques for performing an emissions demand response event are described. In an example, a cloud-based HVAC control server system receives an emissions rate forecast for a predefined future time period. Using the emissions rate forecast, a plurality of emissions differential values are created for a plurality of points in time during the predefined future time period. The emissions differential values represent a change in predicted emissions over time. Based on the plurality of emissions differential values and a predefined maximum number of emissions demand response events, an emissions demand response event is generated during the predefined future time period. The cloud-based HVAC control server system then causes a thermostat to control an HVAC system in accordance with the generated emissions demand response event.

Abstract:

Techniques for performing an emissions demand response (EDR) event are described. In an example, a cloud-based HVAC control system may obtain a first emissions rate forecast and generate an EDR event with a start time and end time based on the first emissions rate forecast. The EDR event may then be transmitted to a thermostat and stored in a memory of the thermostat. At the start time, the thermostat may commence controlling an HVAC system according to the EDR event. After the start time and prior to the end time, the cloud-based HVAC control system may obtain a second emissions rate forecast and generate a modified EDR event with a modified end time. The modified EDR event may be transmitted to the thermostat before the end time and/or the modified end time whereupon the thermostat may control the HVAC system accordingly until the modified end time is reached.

Based on the history of emissions rates, a future time period of predicted high emissions is identified. An emission demand response event participation level of an account mapped to a thermostat is determined for the future time period of predicted high emissions. The emissions demand response event participation level may be one of a plurality of emissions demand response event participation levels. based on the emissions demand response event participation level of the account, an emissions demand response event is generated during the future time period of predicted high emissions. The cloud-based HVAC control server system then causes a thermostat to control an HVAC system in accordance with the generated emissions demand response event.
