Abstract:

A low cost titanium, titanium alloy material, or Ti matrix composite comprising clean and divided titanium turnings that are blended with titanium, titanium alloy powder, and/or ceramic powder and consolidated is provided. A method of making the material is also provided. The low cost material is formed into preshapes, such as a billet, which is subsequently used as feedstock for extrusion, forging, casting, or rolling.

Abstract:

In one illustrative embodiment, a computer implemented method for an accelerated service delivery service is provided. The computer implemented method comprises receiving input data describing a source service model and a target service model, comparing the source service model and the target service model and, identifying differences between the source service model and the target service model to form a first set of identified differences, and responsive to an identification of differences, creating a set of transforms for the first set of identified differences. The computer implemented method further identifying differences between the set of transforms and the described target service model, to form a second set of identified differences. The computer implemented method evaluating the second set of identified differences to determine whether results are acceptable and responsive to a determination that results are acceptable, accepting the target service model.

Abstract:

A fluorescence microscopy sequencer comprises a fluid transport subsystem in which reagents are pumped through a series of multi-port valves to a mixer or one or more flow cells, or directly into the flow cell(s). The one or more multi-port valves can be mounted upon a fluids manifold having syringe tubes mounted on the opposite side. Mounted on a movable support, the manifold may be brought into and out of fluid communication with a storage block comprising the plurality of reagents. In another embodiment, the sequencer comprises a beamsplitter indexer that facilitates the quick and reliable switching of filter cubes through use of a stepper motor. In yet another embodiment, a motion control system is provided in which an inertial reference is interposed between and directly coupled to a first and second axis of control, thereby minimizing any low structural resonant frequencies and enabling high performance (high frequency response) motion control.

Abstract:

The present invention is based on the discovery that the transcriptional activity of both hamster mammary tumor 7 (HMT-7) and hamster layilin genes are increased when Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cells are cultured at temperatures lower than 37 C. The present invention provides novel genomic, cDNA, and protein sequences of HMT-7 and a novel genomic sequence for hamster layilin. Included in the genomic sequences are novel temperature-induced promoter sequences for each; two promoter sequences are provided for HMT-7 and one promoter sequence is provided for layilin. The invention additionally provides antisense and siRNA molecules to the nucleic acid molecules of HMT-7. The invention also provides genetically engineered expression vectors comprising the novel temperature-induced promoters of the invention, which are particularly useful as part of a mammalian temperature-inducible expression system. The invention also provides host cells and/or transgenic animals comprising the novel nucleic acid molecules of the invention. The invention further provides methods of using the polynucleotides of the invention, e.g., for temperature-induced transgene expression.
