Abstract:

The present invention is directed toward an antimicrobial hand sanitizing lotion in the form of a medicated polymer/emulsion based product and the method by which it is produced. The product is intended to be used as a topical antimicrobial and skin protective lotion and contains 2,4,4â-trichloro-2â-hydroxydiphenyl ether as the antimicrobial agent of choice in a base which forms a hydrophobic protective barrier, having persistent antimicrobial properties, upon application to the skin.
