Abstract:
Edge-to-edge printing in a laser or ink jet printer is accomplished by printing registration or calibration marks proximate to the edges of at least one page. The number of marks visible at each edge provides a measurable indication of the alignment of the print mechanism with respect to the page.
A help feature for a user interface includes a help control, such as a graphical button, displayed adjacent to a control option of the user interface. The help control references the control option for obtaining help information about the control option. The help control is displayed, and remains displayed, in response to a detected noteworthy status of the control option. Specifically, the help control is displayed automatically, without user interaction, in the event the control option is disabled and noteworthy. Alternatively, the control option is displayed in the event it is enabled and noteworthy. The help control is displayed non-intrusively relative to other elements of the user interface. Importantly, when the help control is selected by the user, context-sensitive help information is displayed describing, respectively, why the control option is disabled or why it is enabled and noteworthy.

International Classification:
G09G 500
US Classification:

Abstract:
A base bitmap image is displayed with an extension bitmap element in a display area. Positioning information is discovered for positioning the base bitmap image relative to the display area. The base bitmap image is loaded. A list is examined to determine the presence and location of the extension bitmap element. Positioning information is discovered for positioning the extension bitmap element relative to the display area. The extension bitmap element is loaded. The base bitmap image and the extension bitmap element are then displayed according to the positioning information for each.
Method And Apparatus For Using Animated Graphics To Represent Two-Sided Printing
A computer implemented printer control system includes memory configured to provide an operating system and operative to store files representing at least one document to be printed and a display configured to provide an image of a graphical user interface in a viewing window. The graphical user interface is configured to convey information describing a relationship between matter to be printed on a first side of a page and matter to be printed on a second side of the page. The control system also includes processing circuitry configured to display, in the graphical user interface, a print preview image of a page to be printed and to display, together with the print preview image, an icon providing an indication of which binding option has been selected for a document that includes the page.

Abstract:
A method of displaying multiple printer options in a graphical user interface includes dividing a viewing window into first and second portions separated by a first divider including a first visible affordance and displaying a scrollable list of features in the first portion together with a scroll bar. A currently selected one of the features is differentiated from non-selected features in the list in a first visually distinct manner and other selected features of the list are differentiated from non-selected features in the list in a second visually distinct manner. The method also includes dividing the second portion into first and second sub-portions separated by a second divider including a second visible affordance and displaying a print preview image of a selected page in a document that is to be printed in the first sub-portion. The selected page includes the currently selected one of the features. The method also includes displaying controls for the currently selected feature in the second sub portion.
