Abstract:
A network device may receive Network Slice Selection Assistance Information (NSSAI) and network information from network components and from a set of Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB) nodes; generate descriptions of, or updates to the descriptions of, routing paths based on the NSSAI and the network information; and send the descriptions or the updates to the IAB nodes. The routing paths may include one or more backhaul links between the IAB nodes, and the descriptions and the updates associate each of the routing paths with one or more Single-NSSAIs (S-NSSAIs).

Abstract:
Systems and methods described herein use group segmentation of applications (referred to herein as “slicing classes”), based on common service requirements, to allow carriers to assign UE traffic to network slices. A UE stores slicing class definitions for use with UE Route Selection Policies (URSP). Each of the slicing class definitions include network quality of service (QoS) characteristics that are applicable to network traffic for multiple software applications. The UE maps the software applications to corresponding slicing class identifiers associated with the slicing class definitions. The UE also stores URSP rules for associating a slicing class identifier with a network slice identifier. A UE operating system sends, to a modem, one of the slicing class identifiers for an application that is requesting attachment to a wireless network. The modem sends a registration request with a selected network slice identifier based on the received slicing class identifier and the URSP rules.
Systems And Methods For Radio Access Network-Level Allocation And Retention Priority Based On Network Slicing
A system described herein may provide a technique for allocation and/or preemption of radio access network (“RAN”) resources in a wireless network based on Quality of Service (“QoS”)-related metrics associated with User Equipment (“UEs”) that are connected to, and/or are requesting connection to, a RAN. QoS-related metrics may include a network slice, a QoS Flow Identifier (“QFI”), other suitable metrics. A Slice-Based Priority (“SBP”) determine one or more priority (e.g., SBP) values for UEs connected to the one or more RANs, and/or for UEs requesting connection to such RANs. In addition to QoS-related metrics priority values may be determined based on RAN-related metrics, such as Allocation and Retention Priority (“ARP”) values associated with a UE. RANs may accordingly be able to allocate resources, accept or deny connection requests, and/or perform preemption based at least partly on slice-related QoS metrics, thus preserving end-to-end QoS parameters.

Abstract:
A device may receive a request to establish a communication session with a network. The request includes first bearer information regarding a bearer and first network slice information regarding a network slice of the network. The device may generate a first priority value, associated with the request, based on the first bearer information and the first network slice information. The device may obtain second bearer information regarding active bearers associated with existing communication sessions and second network slice information regarding one or more network slices, of the network, associated with the active bearers. The device may generate second priority values associated with the active bearers based on the second bearer information and the second network slice information. The device may compare the first priority value and the second priority values. The device may preempt one or more of the active bearers based on the comparison.
A device associated with a home network may receive an access point name (APN) request from a device associated with a visitor network, wherein the APN request is associated with a user device. The device associated with the home network may cause, based on the APN request, a virtual home network to be instantiated that includes a virtual gateway, wherein the virtual home network is physically closer to the user device than the home network. The device associated with the home network may generate an APN that identifies the virtual home network and the virtual gateway. The device associated with the home network may cause the APN to be sent to the device associated with the visitor network to cause a gateway associated with the visitor network to connect to the virtual gateway.
