Abstract:
A dual-mode resonator comprises a dielectric substrate having a region divided into four quadrants, and a ring resonator forming quadrangularly symmetrical configurations within the four quadrants of the region. The symmetrical configurations may be formed from folded sections of the resonator, so that parallel lines with opposite currents that cancel to minimize the far-field radiation of the filter structures. The symmetrical configuration can also be meandered, so that opposite currents in parallel line segments within each meander and the line segments that interconnect the meanders cancel to minimize the far-field radiation of the filter structures. One resonator can be used in a two-pole dual-mode filter structures, or multiple resonators can be used in more complex dual-mode filter structures. The filter structures also include input and output couplings with capacitors and transmission lines that directly connected to the resonator to provide a point of contact, which more accurately represent ideal lumped element capacitor connections from computer modeling.

Abstract:
A narrowband filter tuned at a center frequency. The filter comprises an input terminal, an output terminal, and a plurality of resonators coupled in cascade between the input terminal and the output terminal. Each of the resonators is tuned at a resonant frequency substantially equal to the center frequency. The resonant frequencies of a primary set of the resonators and a secondary set of the resonators are of different orders.
Composite Transversely-Excited Film Bulk Acoustic Resonator Circuits Having A Capacitor For Improved Rejection
A filter circuit has a cascaded resonator circuit with a first acoustic resonator and a second acoustic resonator connected in series on a printed circuit board (PCB). The admittances as functions of frequency of the first and second acoustic resonators are substantially identical. The filter circuit also has a composite resonator circuit formed by a capacitor connected in parallel with the second acoustic resonator on the PCB. The capacitor improves a steepness of an upper bandpass edge of the filter circuit.
Acoustic filters devices and methods of making the same. A filter device includes two or more series resonators acoustically coupled along a shared acoustic track, and two or more shunt resonators electrically coupled to the two or more series resonators.
Acoustic Filters With Shared Acoustic Tracks For Series And Shunt Resonators
Acoustic filters devices and methods of making the same. A filter device includes a first plurality of acoustic resonators including at least one first series resonator and at least one first shunt resonator. The at least one first series resonator and the at least one first shunt resonator are acoustically coupled along a first shared acoustic track.
Acoustic Filters With Shared Acoustic Tracks And Cascaded Series Resonators
An acoustic filter device includes first and second series resonators and at least one shunt resonator, each shunt resonator electrically coupled to the first series resonator or the second series resonator. Each of the first and second series resonators includes respective first and second sub-resonators electrically connected in series, The first sub-resonators of the first and second series resonators are acoustically coupled along a first shared acoustic track. The second sub-resonators of the first and second series resonators are acoustically coupled along a second shared acoustic track.

Abstract:
A method of designing a microwave filter using a computerized filter optimizer, comprises generating a filter circuit design in process (DIP) comprising a plurality of circuit elements having a plurality of resonant elements and one or more non-resonant elements, optimizing the DIP by inputting the DIP into the computerized filter optimizer, determining that one of the plurality of circuit elements in the DIP is insignificant, removing the one insignificant circuit element from the DIP, deriving a final filter circuit design from the DIP, and manufacturing the microwave filter based on the final filter circuit design.
