Abstract:

A parcel receptacle having a housing and a door member coupled to the housing, the door member structured to move between an open position and a closed position, and a lock assembly. The lock assembly includes a cam lock, a lock set assembly and a lock catch assembly. The cam lock having a latch member structured to move between a locked position and an unlocked position. The lock set assembly having a first position and a second position. The lock catch assembly having a catch member. The cam lock is coupled to the parcel receptacle door. The lock set is coupled to the parcel receptacle door adjacent to the cam lock. The catch member coupled to the housing so that the catch member is positioned to engage either the cam lock latch member or the lock set assembly when the door member is moved into the closed position. When the lock set assembly is in the first position and the door member is moved into the closed position the lock set assembly engages the catch member, and when the lock set assembly is in the second position and the door is moved into the closed position the cam lock latch member engages the catch member.

Abstract:

A rollable ridge vent includes an elongated panel having a pair of opposite ends and a pair of opposite sides, a plurality of first baffles depending from the panel and arranged to form a pair of first rows adjacent the sides of the panel, a plurality of second baffles depending from the panel and arranged to form a pair of second rows adjacent and at least partially overlapping the first baffles, with the first and second baffles being spaced from one another to provide a plurality of drainage spaces therebetween, a plurality of third baffles depending from the panel that are arranged in a sinusoidal pattern and disposed between the second rows of second baffles, and in which the ridge vent further includes a seal member at each end of the panel, with a generally triangular dowel formed in one of the seal members and a lug having a generally triangular socket with a constricted throat formed in the opposite seal member, the dowels and sockets being co-operable with corresponding dowels and sockets formed on similar ridge vent members. A rollable ridge vent system is also disclosed wherein a plurality of ridge vent members are mounted over an opening formed in a peak of a roof. A method of installing a ridge vent system over an opening formed in a roof is further disclosed.

Abstract:

A vent which is attachable but not attached to a structure includes a body having openings for passage of air therethrough while resisting undesired entry of foreign matter. The body has a plurality of fastener receiving passageways. Passageways have an entry end and an exit end and fasteners extend into the passageways for retention therein prior to securement of the vent to the structure. The passageways are preferably composed of a resilient material and the passageway opening has at least portions of lesser opening size than the average diameter of the shank of the fasteners such as nails. In another embodiment, the passageways may be composed of a suitable metal. The passageway may have radially inwardly projecting portions which define a generally triangular segmented surface for retention of the fastener. The vent may be a roof ridge ventilator or other type of vent. The ventilator with the preattached fasteners may be shipped to the ultimate installation site in this manner thereby eliminating the need for the installer to separately handle and position each nail.

Abstract:

A wind powered rotatable vent includes an annular rotatable louvered panel axially rotatable about a shaft and an impeller disposed in spaced underlying relationship with respect to the rotatable louvered panel and rotatably secured to the shaft. A fixed collar underlies at least a portion of the rotatable louvered panel and a brace which is rotatably secured to the shaft has first arms secured to an upper portion of the rotatable louvered panel and second arms secured to a lower portion thereof. The collar and rotatable louvered panel define a passageway for flow of air therethrough. The rotatable louvered panel is structured to rotate responsive to wind impinging thereon and responsive to air flowing upwardly through the impeller in the passageway.

Abstract:

An elongated support post for a mailbox has a mailbox support arm secured to an upper portion of the support post and at least one anchor fin secured to a lower portion of the support post and projectingly outwardly therefrom. In one embodiment of the invention a pair of support fins is secured to generally opposed portions of the support post and project radially outwardly therefrom. The support post may have openings into which portions of the support fins extend for mechanical interengagement therebetween. The support fins are preferably taperedly downwardly so as to facilitate insertion of the post into the earth.

Abstract:

A generally S-shaped vent is provided for a roof including a substructure having at least one ventilation hole and being covered by a plurality of tiles. The tiles form a finish layer having peaks and valleys. The vent includes a base assembly having a number of flange members and at least one venting member with a vent aperture. The flange members are coupled to the roof substructure at or about the ventilation hole. At least one cap member is coupled to the base assembly, overlaying the vent aperture and including an upslope end, a downslope end, first and second sides, and an arcuate portion extending between the first and second sides. First and second louvered portions of the first and second sides of the cap member provide a ventilating passageway through the vent. The vent substantially conforms to the peaks and valleys of the finish layer of the roof.
