REAL ESTATE BIOGRAPHY OF LAURA HOPE, MA, REO SPECIALIST My real estate career began in the early 2000's when, as an entrepreneur, I wished to capitalize on the opportunities which I saw in the evolving Florida real estate market. EDUCATION: *B.S. Psychology at Northwestern University, with a dual major in Business Administration. *Accepted into Psy.D. Program at Adler School of Professional Psychology – Left after my second child with an M.A. with only one semester and a residency to complete my doctorate. *In August 2005 I formed an LLC to promote and property manage predominantly British owned properties in the Davenport, Florida area. I marketed to owners outside the country offering turn key management services at below market pricing. I performed all the management, accounting, customer service, market research, marketing material. I also provided an 800 phone number for ease of communication. My partner acted as the hands-on grounds manager. *In August 2005 I began to invest in residential real estate. I formed an LLC to purchase and property manage acquired properties. I bought and sold condo conversions, ocean front condo's, raw land, and homes in A+ school districts in Florida. I hired, supervised and managed a construction crew and a support staff for the purpose of renovation and management in order to bring the real estate to market-ready condition in a timely manner. During this time I built a portfolio forth $2.5 million dollars. *In December 2005 I formed an LLC where I collaborated with a custom builder of 25 years on the West coast of Florida. Together we build a spec home where we utilized cutting edge ideas to promote a more progressive product in a market seeking new ideas. Together we successfully completed and sold our first spec home prior to the declining market. *In early 2009 I sought 1099 employment as Director of Foreclosure Inspections. In this position I learned to inspect, estimate, and calculate the cost of bringing a foreclosured home to market ready condition in a timely manner (more than 1033 homes were inspected during that time). I hold a State of Florida – Real Estate License and currently perform a dual role of foreclosure inspector and REO Specialist. As an REO Specialist (via certification upon course completion) I have been researching real estate in defined zip codes, preparing comparisons of listing value(s) BPO's, preparing margin sheets for profit estimating and Pro Forma's for our investment group. I write all contracts, negotiate deals, and prepare all docs for closing.
