More drug makers agree to limit antibiotics for farm animals
The FDA and drug makers appear to have passed the first big test of the agencys voluntary approach, said Laura Rogers, director for the campaign on Human Health and Industrial Farming for the Pew Charitable Trusts. This is very encouraging but theres a lot more to do.
"We commend FDA for taking the first steps since 1977 to broadly reduce antibiotic overuse in livestock," said Laura Rogers of The Pew Charitable Trusts human health and industrial farming campaign. "There is more work to do, but this is a promising start, especially after decades of inaction."
