Abstract:

A method, apparatus, and system are directed toward managing cluster membership through a discovery process that enables selection of a master for the cluster. If a node on a network is the first to initiate the discovery process, it assumes the master role. Where two or more nodes enter the discovery process at the same time, or where a cluster is disjointed, views of the potential members to the cluster are shared among the nodes. Each node coalesces and sorts the views. The master may then be determined from the sorted views. In one embodiment, the master is that node in the results having a highest unique identifier. The identified master sends an assertion of its role to the other nodes. If no assertion is received, or multiple assertions are received, updated views are again shared and sorted. In one embodiment, the nodes may be within a peer-to-peer network.

Abstract:

Briefly, in accordance with one embodiment of the invention, a computer-implemented method for localizing a markup language document includes: identifying at least one token within a document and identifying a localizable string within the token. Creating a first file including a translation of the localizable string and a second file including the non-localizable data from the document. The first file and second file are then merged. Briefly, in accordance with another embodiment of the invention, an article includes: a computer-readable medium including program instructions executable to: identify at least one token within the document and identify a localizable string within the token. Create a first file including a translation of at least one localizable string and a second file including non-localizable data from the document. The first file and second file are then merged. Briefly, in accordance with still another embodiment of the invention, a first computer system including a processor and a memory storing program instructions. The processor is operable to execute the program instructions to: identify at least one token within the document and identify a localizable string within the token. Create a first file including a translation of at least one localizable string and a second file including non-localizable data from the document. The first file and second file are then merged.

Abstract:

A mineral insulated heating cable for a heat tracing system. The heating cable includes a sheath having at least a first, and optionally a second layer, wherein the thermal conductivity of the second layer is greater than a thermal conductivity of the first layer. In addition, the first and second layers are in intimate thermal contact. The heating cable also includes a least one heating conductor for generating heat and a dielectric layer located within the sheath for electrically insulating the heating, conductor, wherein the sheath, heating conductor and dielectric layer form a heating section. In addition, the heating cable includes a conduit for receiving the heating section. Further, the heating cable includes a cold lead section and a hot-cold joint for connecting the heating and cold lead sections. In addition, a high emissivity coating may be formed on the first layer.

The invention is a method and device for providing a protective coating for the inside of pipes, said method utilizing a device which is remotely actuated from outside said pipes. Specifically, the device comprises a memory metal delivery means, a corrosion resistant liner means, and a bonding means, said device expanding upon application of heat toward the inner wall of the pipe to cause the bonding means to flow progressively between the liner means and the inside of the pipe to thereby preclude air entrapment and to bond said liner means to the inside of the pipe.
