Exercise apparatus, comprises a first support means for the user's legs, a platform mounted on the support means to support a user's legs, there being a hinge connecting the platform to the support means and defining a generally horizontal hinge axis to allow pivoting of the user's trunk about a generally horizontal axis as the user relatively bends his body and his legs means, and extending in spaced, a second support means for the back of the user's body, and means for indexing said second support means at selected angularity relative to the hinge axis.
A cover plate attachable to a motorcycle to cover transmission structure, and an annular bore surface on the cover plate defining an axis coincident with the motorcycle engine drive shaft axis comprising a sprocket shaft axially spaced from the drive shaft; a compensating nut on the sprocket shaft; an output pulley drive shaft coaxially aligned and coupled to the sprocket shaft and the compensating nut, and an output pulley on the output pulley drive shaft for transmitting drive to a supercharger for the engine.
A mattress construction includes upper and lower structures defining generally parallel planes, and coil springs operatively connected to such structures and located between those lanes, and with at least one of the upper and lower structures including a first tensionable sheet; a member or members extending at the periphery of the mattress and connected with the first tensionable sheet to interact therewith and transmit force for tensioning the tensionable sheet; and a device for adjusting the tension exerted by said member or members. The mattress construction also enables treating of a patient having a spinal condition for which traction is recommended by suspending the patient's body to extend generally horizontally on a "trampoline" grid mattress surface which interacts with the mattress border perimeter structure to create a surface lift and therefore stretch reflex on the patient's body. This surface lift is transmitted vertically in a rebound proportional to the weight and movement of the body or bodies on it to further transmit forces horizontally to the perimeter border surface and substructures creating an elongation and decompression of the patient's spine.

Abstract:
Exercise apparatus comprises (a) elongated, flexible, and yieldably stretchable elastomeric tubing, (b) first and second connections respectively attached to opposite end sections of said tubing, one of said connections connectible to a restraint, (c) and a harness attached to the second connection, the harness being flexible for releasable attachment to a portion of the human body, (d) whereby said body portion may be displaced in selected modes against resistance imposed by yieldable stretching of said tubing to controllably tension muscles associated with said body portion.
Adductor Contraction Exercise Apparatus And Method
A body supporting and flexing apparatus, comprising primary support structure, including a primary platform to support a user's legs, and to allow pivoting of the user's trunk about a generally horizontal axis as the user relatively bends his body and his legs; and auxiliary support structure connected to the primary support structure, and projecting relatively away from the primary platform at adjusted level and to an extent to support at least one of the following: i) the user's trunk between the head and legs, ii) the user's legs between the feet and knee.
A method of treating a patient having a spinal condition for which traction is recommended, that includes: suspending the patient's body to extend generally vertically in a water pool; the suspending including exerting downward pulling on the patient's body, at or below waist level; and the suspending including suspending the patient's body at or above shoulder level, to resist the downward pulling, and thereby create force transmission tending to decompress the patient's spine.
Adductor Contraction Exercise Apparatus And Method
An exercise apparatus, comprising a support structure; a platform mounted on the support structure to support a user's legs, and to allow pivoting of the user's trunk about a generally horizontal axis as the user relatively bends his body and his legs; and other structure associated with the platform to induce contraction of the user's thighs relatively toward one another in response to the trunk pivoting, for producing anterior rotation of the user's ilium, thereby inducing distraction of the user's sacroiliac joint, at the ilium posterior; the other means including a thigh grippable element projecting into an inter-thigh region of the user's legs, to be clamped between the user's thighs.
