Abstract:

A system is disclosed for distributing data representing movies and/or mini-series. The system includes a database for storing and cataloging data representing pre-recorded movies. A billing system is connected to the database for selectively providing and controlling access to the data. The system further includes a user interface including means for requesting the data and means for viewing the data. A transmission network is connected between the user interface and the database for selectively transmitting the data therebetween. Upon the billing system providing access to a user, the requesting means generates a data request for retrieving the data from the database for transmission of the data via the transmission network for viewing by the viewing means.

Abstract:

A user-customized computer display method allows a user to interactively populate a template to produce a layout that may later be used as a desktop for display on a computer system. The user is able to select a template from a series of templates that may be represented as thumbnail images, and populate the template with content items, such as programs, documents, and/or urls, thereby producing a layout. A template design tool may be used to produce custom template configurations. The user may select a layout from the same thumbnail screen that allows selection of templates for population or re-population. The method may also allow association of layouts with monitor configuration, and simple and intuitive configuration of multi-monitor systems.

Abstract:

A conversion kit for an automotive wheel cover, which has a central opening defined therein, is provided by securing a hub spacer to a vehicle wheel against a bolt-on flange formed as part of the vehicle wheel. The hub spacer is secured by lug bolts or nuts. The hub spacer forms a guide which extends from the vehicle wheel toward the central opening of the wheel cover. A fastener, which is longitudinally constrained with respect to the hub spacer, is included within the guide and is laterally movable to allow the fastener to be aligned within the central opening of the wheel cover. A replacement hub cap is mounted in place of the conventional non-locking hub cap. An annular concentric recess is formed in the replacement hub cap and is disposed in a direction away from the automotive wheel. The annular recess forms a narrow bearing shoulder and a small diameter axial bore through which the fastener is disposed. A lockable fastening bolt is seated in the recess of the replacement hub cap against the narrow shoulder and engages the fastener in the guide.

Abstract:

A simple fuel consumption efficiency gauge employs a pointer mechanically coupled to the extremity of a Bourdon gauge. The pointer is electrically coupled to vehicle ground and is bracketed by two contact posts associated with high and low fuel consumption efficiency, respectively. Contact by the pointer with either post completes an electrical circuit through a corresponding light emitting diode to signal good or poor fuel consumption efficiency. When the pointer is between the contact posts, current is continuously supplied to another light emitting diode through a load in order to signal fair fuel consumption efficiency. The device is housed in a casing adapted for connection to similar casings by means of clips and clamps.
